I just discovered a file on my desk top that is labeled Lang-1025.dll. It has 44 entries by that name and all being done on November 11, 2018. What should I do? CAn I just send it to the trash? Thanks
Don't trash it. It's a MS language file and is perfectly safe. Although it may not be used often...it is useful and if you delete it...something will come along that will require it and you'll have to go looking for a new download language file. Murphy's law. :-)
Do you have Piriform Defraggler?
It looks like Defraggler installs 43 lang-nnnn.dll files in its own program directory.
It nor any other program should install a dll to your desktop though. They just don't belong there.
Could you have accidentally copied it there?
If it were me, I'd delete it.
But to be safe, you might move it to Documents or somewhere temporarily until you're convinced it's unneeded.
Edit: On second count, it looks like Defraggler only installs 42 lang-nnnn.dll files. I don't know what that means though.
