Thanks so much for the feedback and help everyone. I am going to try 50% white dove, 50% atrium white and I'll report back on the color. Hopefully it will be helpful to others. This is for the upstairs bedroom ceilings. I may get more adventurous with the ceilings downstairs. I understand the trend, Pattycakes. I don't want to be out of date; I know white ceilings are somewhat boring and unimaginative, but I think they will never go completely out of style, sort of like white kitchen cabinets. There are some rooms that just need the light. I do appreciate knowing that the trend is towards color on the ceilings and will definitely consider that in the other parts of the house.

I did the samples and they honestly all look the same on the white dove background except for super white which looks super white. If I used super white for trim would that make the white dove look yellower or whiter? Still trying to figure out this color theory -- put a blue white next to a yellow white and the yellow reads more or less yellow? I also sampled brilliant white, super white and simply white for trim. Will see it tomorrow. What color trim did you use for your simply white house? Which finish for trim and body? My house is a mix of shingle, brick and wood (yes, seriously), so I am going flat for body, semi gloss trim.

I got up on a ladder yesterday and tried to pry to contact plate up in the sockets. I was able to get one of them up but the other one was broken/missing. So it looks like we’ll be getting a light kit at the minimum. The morning room is 15’4”x 11’8”. The rug we had in there was a 6’x9’. I thought an 8’x10’ would work better so the chairs could stay on the rug but I bought one a couple months ago and it just seemed way too big for the space. The table is 66"L x 40"W x 30"H Extended: 84"L x 40"W x 30"H

Whatever you do, DO NOT Paint the copper gutters and downspouts. They are an architectural feature. There are spit opinions on painting brick. If it's an ugly color, paint it. My personal experience was painted brick was the easiest, most durable house covering. It was 25 years before we had to paint our house a second time. We washed the house every year and the paint was incredibly durable. Trim paint is another issue entirely. It took constant upkeep. If the house is stucco, use an elastomeric paint. It's much thicker than regular house paint and designed to expand and contract with the stucco. You can tint it, just like regular paint. Let Lori guide you on color.
