Kitchen Pendant Lights

Hi All! I am in the process of building a new home and I am confused as to where to place my kitchen island pendants. I know there are configurations to figure this out but my island is pie shaped so I am having some difficulty. The 2 sides of the island are 8' and the circumference is 11". Right now, they have placed the wiring for each pendant 5' apart and I am thinking of going with a 17" wide fixture. My question is, are the light fixtures too big, too small? And where would you place them. I have quite a few hi-hats which limit my options. I would appreciate any advise.

Lol, those were the builder’s blueprints...maybe a picture would help.

Not a pro. You may have to go smaller - 3 pendants could get crowded on an island that’s less than 8 ft long. The trend seems to be to go larger and only use 2, but you can’t go too large with 8 ft ceilings, so it’s a balance. Here’s a guide to spacing

What is your cabinet hardware if any? If it's just those two things and no cabinet hardware, it works for me. But it depends on the cabinet hardware.

Man you could light up the empire state building with all those lights!

I assume you are planning a seating area here, I would do one light fixture in the center.
