Yellowing leaves and small bumps

Aloha all, I have an older adenium that has been healthy. However, the leaves have been yellowing and there are these weird tiny yellowish bumps under them (see photo) The weather has been much colder and unpredictable than usual this winter. It's been in the 60s and very windy at night (cold for Hawaii). Does anyone know what is going on with my poor adenium? Any recommendations?

I'm especially concerned about the yellow bumps on the underside of the leaves.

Aloha Kate.. I live on Maui, so we are both experiencing the same wintery weather over the last several days.. I wish I could offer an explanation to,you about the leaf bumps but I haven't seen them before.. I can tell you that the colder nights, high winds and lots of rain we have experienced recently have caused many of my plants' leaves to turn yellow and drop off.. This is a typical reaction, in my experience, to a change from our usual summer-like weather.. I would not worry because the plants always recover with new leaves and branch growth. Perhaps someone else can explain the leaf bumps for you.

Kate, I cannot comment on the bumps on the underside of the Yellowing leaves. Does not look like an insect damage. Could be a blister and that is the sap underneath this bump.

Generally if the leaves start to yellow at the bottom of the branches, I do not get too concerned. When it is the uppermost leaves, then I start thinking roots.

With the cooler temperatures that you are experiencing out of the norm, you could very easily see signs/changes with your plants.

Wish I had more information for you. I would for safety sake take all leaves with this blistering and put into garbage.

HA! During WWI, for the war effort, my great great great grandmother would get permission to cordon off short sections of paved streets, on which she scattered rubber bands of varying diameter. Under her miraculous care, within days the rubber bands grew into trees so laden with tires for various types of military vehicles that often she and the neighbors couldn't harvest them all before they became larger than intended; this, necessitating that they be trimmed back to a usable size. She would then have the trimmings ground into powder, which she mixed with white milk. When the slurry of rubber and milk was heated under pressure in small molds (like sinker molds or toy soldier molds, if you've ever made either from lead), the result was Ficus elastica seeds which were sold to tree farmers all over the world and served as the propagules for essentially every rubber tree plantation currently in existence. I sure do miss that lovely and determined old gal. ....... at her 100th in 1966: She sure was something. Sad that we have to wait until next summer to see her again. Michelin has kept her so busy at headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand, France for the last 49 years, she hasn't been able to get back to the states to see ANY of her great, great, great, great grandchildren. Your tree looks healthy. I don't think what you describe is any cause for alarm. Cherries lose spurs from time to time. As long as the tree has healthy new growth there will be new spurs.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to help me! I ended up getting everything stabilized and they are mostly back to normal. I had a few things which all contributed to the edema issue and then a period of over watering after transplant. As I said, the big closet they are in gets pretty warm and humid due to the door being shut to keep the cats out. I had a fan on them and with the furnace running, it was keeping the room cooler and keeping the humidity down. After transplant, I did a heavy watering. For the next 5 days, I didn't run the fan and it has been warming here, so the furnace hasn't been circulating the air to keep the room cool and to remove the humidity. I think this caused the edema and the lack of water evaporation which caused the wilted leaves from the wet potting soil. After I figured this all out, they all stabilized and are looking much better. With the nicer weather, time for them to start transitioning outside. Still 4 weeks to go. Next year, I will be waiting 4 more weeks to start the seeds. They are getting too big, but I had spring fever. :)

I'm feeling relieved after reading your posts. I've removed the blistered/yellowing leaves. The drop in average temps by at least 10 degrees was pretty sudden. I was suspecting that was the main issue, but was not sure. Keeping an eye on any additional bumps. Fingers crossed. Thank you paradiseprincess51 and Rick.

spray soap water,i can see tons of damaging insects,i have the same here they make the leaves yellow and fall
