Comments (2)After removing as much of the paste as possible, do a coat of Gardz as a primer before painting. It will not interact with any residual paste to protect your paint job. It's available at the Home Depot. Here is a link that might be useful: Gardz...See MoreShould I pair navy/hunter with beige or grey?
Comments (5)Greens (unless they're teal/turquoise/aqua) are warm. Gold is warm. Navy is weird. Technically, it's cool, but it offsets or complements or somehow goes with hunter greens & with burgundies, which are both warm, & it's a stunning complement to gold. so if you've got green & gold...I'd go with beige/tan/cream. Grays would go with navy if it's paired with silver or taupe. very nice bedroom!...See MoreHow should I paint over a semi gloss paint on heavy knockdown walls?
Comments (0)I am going to be starting a paint project within the next week. I will be painting over walls with a heavy knockdown texture that are currently painted with a semi gloss paint. The color will not be changing. How should I prep (tsp, sanding, etc.) the walls to accept the same type (semi gloss and the same color) of paint? This is a small apartment that will be rented out by the 1st of September. My understanding is that I will not need to apply primer except in the areas where I have patched over nail holes and scuff marks. Should I apply 1 coat or 2? What nap roller sleeve should I use? I will be cutting in using a Wooster angled brush and rolling the walls with an 18" roller....See MoreWhich direction should I go with wall paint?
Comments (0)Hi! Please help me in choosing paint colors to sample. I think I should try and balance the warm furnishings in my south-facing room with a cooler wall color but not sure which direction to take. Any suggestions? Think I want something brighter, not as "rich" or dark. I like colors that lean toward green, was thinking Coastal Fog or Grant Beige but they're too similar to what is already on wall? Please see below for closeups of rug, curtains, and natural woven shades. Thanks in advance for your help!!! I am so lost 😞...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
