Master Bath...light tile, dark grout? Help!
Comments (5)I am going to have tiles that are similar in color with grout that is very slightly darker. I will also have glass tile accents and a pebble floor. I plan on using the same grout color throughout. Is that what you will do?...See MoreCherry cabinets with grey tile floors?
Comments (2)While I have not yet begun my kitchen remodel (still saving money and gathering ideas), I plan to do honed Ostrich Gray Slate floors with cherry cabinets and some sort of white-ish stone counter. I already purchased the Ostrich Gray Slate and have used it in my laundry room / mud room, the adjoining powder room and pantry, as well as in my entryway. The tile has a lot of variation and pattern in gray, charcoal, black, and silver. I think it will look fantastic with cherry cabinets. I also considered Arctic Gray Limestone tiles, which are a much lighter gray with white veins. I think that combination would have been stunning as well....See MoreGreen Granite Counter w Green Backsplash?
Comments (66)earn44 - I am very impressed w Fireclay. Not only is the tile beautiful, but their customer service has been great so far, cheap samples, fast shipping, and personal emails to ask about my project. I am adjusting my pricing expectations and thinking that $35/sq ft isn't so bad! Thanks everyone for talking me out of the shapes, that saves $10/sq ft! Speaking of Fireclay, I'm back on board w Kelp potentially, I've been reading through many of the Craftsman kitchen threads on here and lunarlab's kitchen thread. The Kelp pic she posted on this thread is one of the many in her reveal thread, and shows the color quite differently. Hope you don't mind me posting this lunarlab, it is gorgeous! pippiep - I read through your threads on tile, I feel like you've saved me so much work and samples! I like the Leaf Peeper tile, but the Basil is just so much more vibrant and appealing to me. Checked out the Vermeere at Complete Tile, but paying for shipping is stopping me from ordering samples. Does anyone else balk at these silly expenses, that are so small in the scheme of things! More thoughts later ... thanks everyone for your ideas and feedback!...See MoreDark VS light tile?
Comments (14)Hi all, Just wanted to thank you all for your opinions. I actually did what Tartenmeup suggested - on Saturday I placed the tiles around the kitchen and keep looking at them from different perspectives, across the whole of the remaining day and into the night. I ended up going with the dark. They have started with the tiling and I must say it has elevated the kitchen. It has a nice warm hematite glow to it. Both tiles are glass, so although the pictures didn't show it as such, the lighter one was just as reflective - and no it doesn't bother me. If I was tiling all the way to the ceiling I would have gone lighter, but I'm just having a band along the one side to the other. @Karen Rose, your kitchen is stunning and inspirational! I will also be having lighting under the cabinets and I hope mine look as good as that! Is the lighting cool white or warm white? Many thanks again to all who chimed in. I did appreciate all the responses....See MoreBrandie Van Ee
