Need Help Selecting Tile for Powder Room Remodel
Comments (4)Thanks for the replies. I finally found a real solid black but in a odd size -- Daltile has an unpolished (not shiny) jet black tile in 24"x12" size. I was so happy, but then I see you replies about how the charcoal looks good. Now I'm doubting myself. :( The vanity top will be black galaxy polished, and the wall color I'm aiming for a warm gold. Here is a pic of the design that inspired this remodel: http://www.hgtvpro.com/hpro/photo_template/article/0,3140,HPRO_28216_6027344_10,00.html. I'm going for that similar wall color. This pic has charcoal floor tiles, but then it has a black cabinet. By the way, how do I get email alerts when I receive follow up posts? I didn't even realize I had replies on this post!...See MoreStarting Powder Room Mini- Remodel (PICS) - Need Input Please
Comments (6)Thanks Busybme. I was just thinking the same thing today after doing some remeasuring, that I could fit a 3 light bar fixture in the space I have. Here is a pic of the Duchess 3 light fixture but I turned it upside down for the downlight effect. Only issue I see reversing the light is needing more room above the arched mirror since the lamp shades will be running into the mirror top. I am leaning toward the first mirror too, but I haven't been able to actually see one in person yet to verify the finish color. I would have to order online and hope it will work. Still thinking about the mirror type and finish that would look best. I think the second mirror choice would be "safe" but I am feeling the urge to get a little more dramatic than that! Thanks everyone for the good comments. I have posted this on the decorating board and am getting suggestions there too. Gsciencechick I am going to check out that Moen faucet. I also found a Delta faucet yesterday that looks like it would work too. Only problem I am having is that my current TP holder is the recessed type built into the drywall. I am having a hard time finding one of those in a nice antique bronze type finish. I have seen one in ORB but it looks almost black and I really prefer the more brownish rustic bronze look for the faucet and other bath accessories. I may have to have the drywall patched and just go with a standard TP holder which can be found in more finish choices....See MoreBasic Powder Room Remodel
Comments (8)I agree, it is quite nice! HB' s tip about the faucet is the kind of thing that makes our forum community great. Where else are you going to get a tip like that when you are not even talking about working on the plumbing? Your mirror is a nicer version of one in my half bath. I used mine to hide a safe. My "friend" turned out to be a pill and money thief, a brother was addicted to opiates before he died of his addiction, I am disabled and need help around the house, and you never really know who might have problems or when someone in your household may need medication that is attractive to others. My contractor installed the piano hinge on a piece of one by half inch molding and continued the molding around the edges of the mirror so that you do not really notice that it is hiding anything. I will see if I can get a photo. Please excuse the seashell wallpaper. It came with the house and we have only been here ten years. The safe fit in an old med cab hole in the wall. It is handy to have a place to put money and credit cards when not needed, too. Plus, any time any workers are in the home, in goes everything attractive to dishonest or desperate people. If I had kids, I would have a safe for all my meds or guns....See MoreMirror and Lighting Help for Powder Room Remodel
