Should I tear into my master bath walk in closet flooring?
Comments (2)I think this falls under the "nice to have" category. Changing out the floor probably won't add value to your home, and it won't make the floor more functional for you. However, if it will bother you to not have flow from one floor to the other I would change it out. I'm also assuming there will be no change in floor level once you install the new bathroom floor, or if there is a change in level it can easily be addressed with a saddle. If there is a change in level that is not easily addressed then I would seriously consider extending the tile into the closet area....See MoreIn Master Bedroom, should I replace dressers with wall to wall closet?
Comments (10)Yeah, in our old house we dressed in the bedroom, but when we designed this house we on purpose moved that activity from the part of the suite where the bed is. My DH travels a ton for work and often has late or early flights, so we designed our master to keep noise low in the bedroom section. When you open the door to the master suite, you are in a short hall. The dressing room/closet is on your left, then the bath. There is a cased opening directly in front of you that leads into the bed area. Basically, there are no doors in the bedroom part of the suite. People who want to be super close to their toilet or closet might not like it, and it wouldn't work at all if our closet were small, but it is so perfect for us! He can lug his suitcase in, brush his teeth, whatever...and I am not disturbed. Plus, I like not having dressers in the bedroom....See MoreAdd a water closet to master bathroom?
Comments (2)Budget? Do you have a basement / crawl or a slab? Re-configuring the total area, minus the tub, would allow for a bigger closet and an enclosed WC....See MoreShould doors to Master Bath & Master Closet BE THE SAME STYLE?
Comments (4)Patricia Colwell Consulting ... Hope this helps clarify our project. Current door to bathroom is where "proposed linen closet" is. We're in "over 55" community in 2/2/2 home with limited storage. I have walk-in closets in both bedrooms & a 30x30" entry closet PERIOD. MAIN QUESTION: Could closet door be flat bi-fold, louver (main advantage to both being SUPPORT for closet organization), or pocket. I APPRECIATE ANY THOUGHTS YOU MIGHT HAVE ... THANKS!!...See Moretqtqtbw
