We used Behr Haze in our family room with the Ultra Pure White for trim. It is a true beige than lots of the others that I had looked at that had a yellow or pinkish tint to them. It looks great with our creamy silver gray sofa and our tile that has gray, tan and coral in it. I think navy or forest green would look great with it. You might check out Canvas tan or Almond Wisp. Both of these are in the line of Primer and Paint by Behr. Canvas tan is "less color" than the Haze ( which is not the Paint and Primer type). Almond Wisp may have a hint of pink compared to the Haze and Canvas.

Today I tried Latte and Nomadic Desert. I like both of them very much. I have a open floor plan. My kitchen is open to my living and dining space. Kitchen has natural oak cabinets and living/dining space solid natural oak floors. Similar to the pictures by msrose--I am planning to go ahead with kitchen- Nomadic Desert(as this is little lighter) and living/dining with Latte(as this is little dark and warm). Does this look odd because of the open floor plan or as they are from the same family it does not matter? Entire space has chair rails/crown molding is Cream/bone white/half white color. newhomebuilder--thanks for pictures, they all look amazing. It is just that I burnt my hands with BM--I do not understand their undertones that well. All these years I had(and still have until I paint now) BM and did not even think of any other brand. Now I think we narrowed it down to SW colors(first time in my life). Advice appreciated. Jim

I tried to post a picture, but am having trouble with a few things. First of all, my photo skills are lacking and the true colors of the current wall color and the sample of Wheeling Neutral are just not showing up they way they appear IRL. The current wall color is much more yellow. In my picture, the two colors look quite similar, when they really aren't at all. The other problem is the size of the picture. I inserted the picture by dragging and dropping from my pictures library and the picture is huge. Do I need to resize before I insert a photo? This is my first attempt at including a photo since the change over to Houzz. Then, of course, there's that whole thing with my photos becoming 'property' of Houzz. I have been comparing my samples of Lenox Tan and Wheeling Neutral and I think I've figured out what didn't work with the Lenox Tan in our BR with the bedding I'm going to use. Altho I do like the richness of LT, the color needs to be grayer and I think I've achieved that with the WN. Could I go darker? I suppose the answer would be yes, but then the color is just about matching the grayed brown in the pillow sham and that's not necessarily my goal. The colors should just blend, right? I want a nice background color that works with the overall color scheme.

All my windows face South and West and the sun is very strong. I live in CA. The 2 sliding glass doors I purchased about 4 years ago have just the Sun Coat. Its terrible I continually find myself closing the black out drapes. The room is hot and very cold at night. I am happy that I ordered the same Milgard Thermally Improved windows for my entire home with the Sun Coat Max. We have not had them installed yet although I did place the window in the living room on the floor and can tell I will not have to keep closing the drapes and hopefully will not need window coverings at all. I can definitely see the difference. I hear they make a room more comfortable and I can see why.
