warm gray Sherwin Williams interior paint colors

This is for a bathroom shared between 2 bedrooms. calacatta marble tiles on floor and counter. Large subway tiles in tub. Tile grout is a light gray.

I can tell you I have Dunn Edwards Minors Dust which is a griege and I love it. Painted the whole house in it

My Dad recently painted his whole house in SW Accessible Beige, which is a griege that leans warm. He doesn't have marble flooring though. His house is totally in the warm (brown) color tones. It came down between that and Worldly Gray, which leans cool, but to my eye has a green undertone that didn't look good in his house.

It sounds like you want to choose a light griege that leans to the warm side.

Someone taught me how to choose the perfect griege. It goes like this: Have your lighting already installed because that will impact the way paint looks. Go to the griege area in the fan-deck of paint colors (in the area that includes "worldly gray," and "accessible beige." Look at the darkest paint colors on the strips. Considering your room, decide what underone you would like to have in your paint color and choose 2 or 3 paint strips where the darkest color represents an undertone you want. Now move up the paint strips to the lighter colors (probably the lightest). Now choose 2 or 3 light griege paints and go to the SW store with some samples of materials from your room and nearby rooms (such as paint color of adjacent rooms, cabinet color, marble flooring, etc.). Ask the SW people to weigh in. They might suggest a color you hadn't thought of. Get 2, 3 or 4 samples at SW. Paint large areas of your room in the samples. Let it dry all the way and look at the colors at different times of the day to choose your color.

For me this method has worked well to choose different grieges for my house. Some of the grieges I chose lean warm and some lean cool. The one in my bedroom has a green undertone which works great for that room but would look horrible in others. The method above works great to lead you to the perfect color without having to get 30 samples.

My DD used Benjamin Moores Stonington Gray but had it mixed in Ace paint. So you can use other manufacturer's color mixed in Sherwin Williams paint. Here's how it looks in a well lit room with dark blue accents. It looks a little darker in my DD's hallway which is a low light area. I recommended the Stonington Gray color to my sister in law and she loves it. She used it in a bathroom with a black and white floor and dark gray vanity. Don't have a picture but it looks great. Hello, as a Designer, I use a lot of Sherwin-Williams paints. Two recent colors that seem to have those warm properties would be Perfect Greige (SW6073) which will be a great mix of both light tan and grey as well as, Light French Gray(SW0055) which is a beautiful clear warm grey. I like the trim for these two colors in Dover White (SW6385). In fact, I just finished a new medical center and we actually alternated these colors in the exam rooms. LFG on top and PG on the bottom, separated with chair rail in Dover White and then flipped the scheme every other exam room. The hallway was done in the single color of Light French Grey. Rather a nightmare for the painters but when completed, it has gotten so many compliments. I will be posting finished pictures of the clinic next week. I hope this information helps.

Oh, that "greige" word. :) No one knows what the hell it means. Just like "undertones", no one knows what that means either. Greige and undertones are words people use to describe how they're personally perceiving color because they don't have a proper vocabulary to speak to color. And most people don't have a proper vocabulary to speak to color because most people aren't crazy color freaks. As far as warm or cool, that's another one that throws normal people for a loop. Most people think you split a color wheel in half and the side with red, orange and yellow is warm and the other side with green, blue and purple is cool. Nope. Warm and cool is a spectrum within each hue. There are warm yellows and cool yellows. Warm blues and cool blues. You get the idea. Mindful Gray belongs to the yellow hue family and in context of - and compared to - other colors in the whole entire yellow hue family, Mindful Gray is warmer. You can see how that plays out on this here color wheel. And I think it's a lovely exterior color because it's not too light, not too dark but of course it all depends on any fixed elements you have like brick, stone, the roof and whether or not Mindful harmonizes nicely with those.

Coordinating colors for repose gray As you see Eider White works great with it. And Warm gray as well. If you do not have enough light you might want to go with off-white instead gray. Gray color is out already.

Consider Modern Gray by SW. It's similar to Accessible Beige which I used as well, but somehow Modern Gray was surprisingly lovely to live with. (it's a light greige)

Agreeable Gray, very similar to Accessible Beige with a tad grayer. Or Sedate Gray (more gray)

I haven't completely committed yet, but I'm leaning towards "Sherwin Williams Popular Gray" for my home; 14' ceilings with west and north facing windows. It's a soft, warm greige, bordering on taupe. it's a very comfortable, soft color. I'm liking it with "Sherwin Williams Snowbound" for trim.
