A magazine in my area would like to write an article about hostas and I suggested him few names, but now I need those pictures. Reggie D.

Get yourself some toads! They LOVE to eat slugs. I had a few slugs eating my marigolds. I put beer out in a dish to trap them but didn't find any. And they stopped eating the plants. I was confused about what happened to them until I saw a toad in that area of the garden. Overnight he (or she) ate them all! I didn't have any more trouble with them eating anything, including the hosts, for the rest of the summer!

OK,ya'll,I just bought,and planted Hanky Panky today. Here is a direct quote from the back of the label."An unusual hosta that changes color with the seasons. Leaves are dark green with a pale line between the center and the margin in spring. In summer the edge lightens to near-white,and develops a pale green overlay. So,Paul,you are not crazy! Mine looks like the spring color now,so mine will be changing soon,I guess! Phil

Laurie, right on cue, you are a doll, thank you! I finally have a HP with the same colouring. It just gets better and better. P.S. I have some wine open...ill call after dark .. 9ish? as I'm sure you are very busy with your nursery. :-) Karin, lol, I know how you feel - I kept wondering when mine would resemble Laurie's in colour ... year 3, that's when. You won't have to wait that long - it's already halfway there from what I see. Next spring I have a feeling we will be swapping pics again...this time with similarities - the Laurie-kind. :-)
