Ok help me. I can't decide on anything.
Comments (10)I think what Willard meant was that narrowing it down to 10 individual types is very difficult b/c of how many varieties out there that are really good. In retrospect if I could go back in time and start over I would probably do this with a choice of 10: I would grow 3 annuums, 1 pubescens, 1 frutescens, 3 chinenses and 2 bacccatums. This way you can figure out what you like as far as a species and dig in next year. So my recommmendations along those lines: Annuums: I would grow the cayenne, long red slim, hot early jalapeno, and the hungarian hot wax pepper or mesilla (never grew the mesilla but found a few in a grocery store last week and liked the taste) Pubescens: I would grow manzanos. Pubescens are harder to grow but it's good practice and you will get at least a few pods this year if you do a little research. Frutescens: the staple frutescens, I would think, is the tabasco pepper. Chinenses: my absolute favorite peppers. I would grow the red habanero, the limon, and the aji dulce (the first two are very hot, the aji dulce is very mild, chinenses rarely come in between). If you asked me tomorrow I would probably recommend 3 others, I love the chinenses for their flavor and the bang you get out of them, there's nothing else like them and they are almost exclusively what I grow. Baccatums: I would grow the aji rojo and the lemon drop. I am growing both of those for the first time this year on recommendation of others. The lemon drop is always highly recommended. The only other baccatum I have grown is the aji habanero and it was a beautiful plant with tasty pods but it had NO heat, and I like the pepper to bite me back. I would think between these you will get a good idea of what is out there and will get an idea of what you like and will be able to more easily plan your garden (for instance, you may fall in love with the baccatums and will grow 80% baccatums next year). Between www.peppermania.com and www.tomatogrowers.com you should be able to acquire all of these seeds. Also, I wrote a thread back in october or november entitled 'a review of what I grew this year' which gives detailed comments on a bunch of peppers, you can get some ideas from the thread if you go back a few pages. I feel your pain, sometimes it's really overwhelming when you first get into it to decide what to grow, but think of it this way, at least you have good time to plan and supportive people on here. Comments (9)If you know yourself to be a 'wood finish' cabinet person, I wouldn't force yourself to go to painted just because it would 'look right.' You want to feel at home and like it's your room, not a stranger's kitchen that looks nice from afar. Although it's not necessary, including some painted sections or pieces can be fun. DH and I are definitely wood cabinet people, but we have some painted mixed into our kitchen and I love the combination and it's a nice change for me. And although I love them, it still wouldn't have been 'me' at all to have everything painted. The funny thing for me is that my inspiration kitchens were almost all painted white or cream. I just had to find what else there was about the rooms that spoke to my heart and try to emulate the overall feeling without the white paint. I think that if you take this out of the imagining stage and go look at flooring samples with cabinet samples, you can pick 2 things that both would be considered in the medium range, but that provide enough contrast from each other. Pcjs's suggestion for red oak, I think is a good one. Birch is another that is gorgeous and not too light, while being a good base for some pretty cabinets. There are so many choices and possible combinations. Don't despair. :-) Best wishes!...See MoreCan't decide on countertop edge...Please help!

Comments (23)Thanks for all the input and design ideas. I am almost sure on the dining chairs from west elm. https://www.westelm.com/products/finley-high-back-dining-chair-h2914/?pkey=ccontract-grade-furniture%7Ccontract-grade-dining-furniture&isx=0.0.2975 I will be going again in morning to checkout the upholstery colors and try them out to make sure they are comfortable. No kids in the house, only adults, so not worried about food on the carpet. I will rethink this rug placement. I also like the idea of plating some evergreens in front of the fence, so i have a nicer view out those windows. I will update everyone tomorrow once i come back from west elm with the final dining chair decision. This table is 108 inches long. I think 8 chairs should look perfect with it. 10 might be pushing it?...See Morealwaysundecided
