Ivanka Trump's Women's Global Development And Prosperity Initiative

While obsessed Trump haters stare slack jawed at an Ivanka "look alike" pushing around a vacuum, the real McCoy has been busy on a tremendous project which will help empower women and their independence.

This is what helping women looks like, pink hats!

The Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative led by Ivanka Trump will change women's lives

On Thursday, President Trump signed a presidential memorandum launching a landmark effort on behalf of women worldwide, closely crafted and conceived by Senior Adviser Ivanka Trump.

Trump, who has proven herself to be a strong, effective ally of working women, will score another achievement with the official launch of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative (W-GDP).

The new initiative will change the lives of women across the globe, bolster America’s national security, and serve as the first-ever government-wide partnership with the private sector aimed at helping 50 million women in developing countries by 2025.

IVANKA TRUMP: EMPOWER WOMEN TO FOSTER FREEDOM

With an initial $50 million investment, W-GDP helps to realize President Trump’s 2017 National Security Strategy, which acknowledges “women’s critical role in achieving global peace and prosperity,” as Ivanka Trump wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

Trump went on to note the mounds of research that found “[t]he larger the gender gap (defined as the differences in experiences and opportunities between men and women), the more likely a country is to be involved in… conflict,” according to the World Bank.
Though the media refuses to cover and Democrats refuse to acknowledge the successes of the Trump administration – many spearheaded by Ivanka Trump – she continues to work tirelessly to better the lives of everyday Americans.

President Trump teased Thursday’s announcement during his State of the Union address.

Underscoring the importance of women’s initiatives to his administration, President Trump said, “As part of our commitment to improving opportunity for women everywhere, this Thursday we are launching the first ever Government-wide initiative focused on economic empowerment for women in developing countries.”

His tease of Thursday’s announcement came after Trump touted the important strides his administration has made for women. “No one has benefitted more from our thriving economy than women, who have filled 58 percent of the new jobs created in the last year,” Trump said.

Indeed, the Trump administration’s successes on behalf of women are in large part because of the work of Ivanka Trump. The new W-GDP initiative is only part of the story.

From reskilling America’s workforce through the newly formed the National Council for the American Worker and a new women’s finance initiative at the World Bank to expanding the child tax credit and doubling the standard family deduction, Ivanka Trump has been instrumental in making policy goals realities.

The expanded tax breaks for working families, for example, only came after months of Ivanka personally lobbying lawmakers. And the much-lauded effort to prioritize the hiring of military spouses in government jobs, likewise, came after a year long, in-depth process spearheaded by Ivanka.

In addition to these successes, Ivanka is responsible for the Republican Party becoming the lead voice on paid family leave.

Donald Trump was the first-ever Republican presidential candidate to be a consistent voice for aligning America with the rest of the developed world in providing paid family leave. As President, Trump has included six weeks of paid family leave in his 2018 budget, opening the door for Congress to act.

It was Ivanka who helped to get the ball rolling in Congress, meeting with lawmakers ahead of a subcommittee hearing on the bold proposal.

The Trump administration’s expansive efforts for working women both at home and across the globe often receives little attention, notoriety, and coverage. That was not the case, however, on Tuesday during President Trump’s State of the Union address.

Garnering perhaps the largest applause of the night, and even prompting cheers from recalcitrant Democrats, Trump noted, “All Americans can be proud that we have more women in the workforce than ever before -- and exactly one century after the Congress passed the Constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote, we also have more women serving in the Congress than ever before.”

Though the media refuses to cover and Democrats refuse to acknowledge the successes of the Trump administration – many spearheaded by Ivanka Trump – she continues to work tirelessly to better the lives of everyday Americans.

The hard-working senior adviser said it best: “Women can choose to knock each other down or build each other up. I choose the latter.”

Wonder what all those women who worked in sweatshops for low wages making her fashion line think of this.

Is just PR. She is, no matter what, as swampy as her dad. Her and her husband do not belong anywhere near the White House. I would like to see them kicked out.

Wait... Someone who isn't a liberal acknowledges that a wage gap exists and is problematic? (I recall a few of the more conservative types here saying it doesn't really exist as a problem.)

"Trump went on to note the mounds of research that found “[t]he larger the gender gap (defined as the differences in experiences and opportunities between men and women), the more likely a country is to be involved in… conflict,” according to the World Bank."

I love when the feminism deflection is thrown around. Here is my favorite pro-woman post about Dr. Ford by a "feminist" Trump supporter.

The two boys were drunk. The only thing they might be able to testify to is that they don't remember what they did. Not that they didn't do it.

^^^^^^^

Allegedly.

My guess is that she wanted a menage and it went wrong. Apparently, she really got around.

How much money has Linda Sarsour been granted for women's empowerment? What has she been doing for women besides trying to shove Sharia Law down their necks?

Ivanka was named along with her father in the class action suit for fraud brought by buyers of Trump condos (never built) in Baja California. She was also named in the lawsuit for fraud regarding Trump SoHo.

I would not trust anything advanced by this woman -- a grifter like her father.

My favorite quote from the feminist Becca was just a day or two ago when she said that Kamala Harris "slept her way to the top."

Sunday hypocrisy has its own specialness.

Given how many electoral races Harris has won, and following the logic that she has "slept her way" to victory, she's been sleeping with millions of Californians -- no minor feat.

[W-GDP establishes an innovative new fund at the U.S. Agency for International Development to support proposals that enable women to succeed in the economy. The president has directed USAID to allocate an initial $50 million for this new fund. This fund will implement the administration’s new strategy of foreign assistance, which emphasizes investments that produce measurable results and help recipient countries become self-reliant. It will also facilitate complementary private-sector investments to achieve our shared goals.]

Translation:

This money will fund initiatives! It will meet goals! There will be measurable results!

Specifics please.

Given the Trump administration at the direction of this president has cut just about all dollars from any program that does anything for women around the world this is a PR vanity stunt and token for his daughter. She should just start having her products either produced here in America or demand decent working conditions & pay for all the girls working in her factories overseas. Maybe money from her project could go to help some girls to become "independent" instead of slaving away in factories so she can add to her own bank account.

Laura Bush has worked on women's initiatives for decades and it wasn't vanity or token PR. Her work has spanned decades and the world. Laura's daughter, Barbara, volunteered for years at international health facilities before finally founding and leading with five others, including her sister Jenna, the Global Health Initiative bringing health training and services here in the US and in a variety of other countries.

Hehehe, Michele Obama while First Lady and since has worked in women's initiatives dealing with education, without which nobody in poor countries can become independent; healthcare and rights which promoted women's ability with government support to assert the right not to be raped, which isn't prosecuted in some countries; the right not to get pregnant where women really do die in childbirth or spend the rest of their relatively postnatal short lives suffering from total incontinence due to fistulas for lack of minimal medical care by providing contraceptives, which this administration has totally defunded, etc.

Tell Ivanka to speak to her and Jared's Saudi and UAE partners about women's rights, education and ability to walk around without being caned by the religious minders supported by the state.

Hope someone is really helped by whatever this "fund" actually does. One can always hope.

If anyone thinks this isn't part of a set up for ivanka to run in 2024, you're kidding yourself.

For trump's part...anything my little girl wants...here ya go darling, $50 mil for you to play with....keep her out of my hair...

Heck, I don't even know what she does, let alone whether or not she's accomplished anything. All I recall is how mad he got at her for showing him up when she gave her talk on economics.

She got her foot in the door of the White House for herself and husband because she's daddy's girl. I'm sure she was trying to take Haley's place at the UN and trying to get a Ambassadorship somewhere nice, maybe China, they really like her there. But apparently Ambassadorships are being given to members of Mar A Lago golf club.

I remember a reporter saying, back when the Trumps were heading for the WH, that Ivanka and Jared were joking that after Dad's term(s), Jared would be the next president, and then Ivanka would be president.

If true, they evidently already had visions of a Trump dynasty.

I sometimes wonder what Ivanka thinks of her mostly non-working "step-mother" who evidently has never aspired for high office--or any office, for that matter.

That article is a meaningless word salad. I mean, really: Trump, who has proven herself to be a strong, effective ally of working women . . . Got any examples of that? Indeed, the Trump administration’s successes on behalf of women are in large part because of the work of Ivanka Trump. The new W-GDP initiative is only part of the story. From reskilling America’s workforce . . . Tell me more about the reskilling. Has anyone here been reskilled?

The only concrete thing I can find is that the child tax credit went up.

If you want to help woman across the world, the first thing to do is help them control their reproductive systems instead of cutting off US funding to foreign organizations that help with a broad array of health care.
