Cleaning bathroom tiles
Comments (3)I'm guessing that your bottom tiles are on the shower floor? Really, I don't think the grout lines should be turning black in two days in a new home unless you have an excessive amount of heat and humidity in your shower area. If your grout was sealed and no water can get under the grout and grow mold, it should not be turning black so quickly. If your house is new -- have the shower construction checked. The bleach is disguising the real problem; in most homes bleach will clean/remove surface mould, but when it comes back repeatedly so quickly, something else is going on beneath the surface. It's possible that all you need to do is clean with your bleach; let it dry well and seal it. If that doesn't work, get an expert in to check it out before it becomes a more serious problem. Good luck....See Morecleaning mildew from bathroom tile?
Comments (4)I just did a google search on Terra Marrone and came up with a glazed porcelain from the LeArgille line at Casa Dolce Casa. Linked it below. If that's it you could try calling the manufacturer. If not, I would suggest trying something a little milder than bleach first, just in case. You could try a mix of baking soda and vinegar, or a little lemon juice (as long as it's not actual stone). That would also be better for the environment, and it won't asphyxiate you either! Or you could try one of the off the shelf mildew cleaners, but be sure to open a window & turn the fan on -- the fumes can be strong. Good luck! Comments (22)Thank you creative tile. Yes, these feature tiles are at the end of the bath in the main shower area. I don't believe he put anything behind the tiles. I'm sure he just stuck them to the plasterboard as he did with all the others. He did treat the tiles with Lithofin as these are stone but then I believe he just grouted them. He's been this morning and can't see where the leak under the bath is coming from (please see picture) and he's added some more sylicon around the taps but I wonder if this has anything to do with the tiles too if you say he should have put something behind them but the plasterboard was bone dry so hopefully it isn't. What a nightmare. Thank you for the advice. We'll have to see what the boss says tomorrow but I'd like to give them the opportunity to rectify it first and I'm so glad I posted this else I'd have been scrubbing at the tiles for weeks but now I know I need to get them back in Thank you again for all your help....See Moregrey grout colour with subway tile in bathroom
Comments (36)@Slough Shark we are just getting started with the master bath in our new (budget) build- although we have hired a reputable tiler to do the tile work. 4x16 white glossy subways for the shower walls and grey pebble mosaic for the shower floor. Bathroom floor tile is a dark grey and I am struggling to pick a grout for the floor tile. I want to use the same color for the mosaic and hexagon floor tile. Looks like your floors might be about the same color... could you post a pic of the floor tile? Im considering pewter or dove gray from custom building products. i am now debating choosing rolling fog instead of platinum for the subways after seeing your results!!...See Moremxk3 z5b_MI
