Yup. I might go soft gold. Reds go fabulously with golden walls, and depending on decor, you can be Tuscan, French Country, or Rustic using those shades. I'm going to say keep looking. Number one (of the last post) is too straight lined with the crib (and the crib can't be changed because it's fabulous) and number two appears to have a bit of a distressed finish, which does not seem to match the crib...now if number two comes in a wood finish verses the white distressed, it might work (while I hate blonde wood with the white I'd like to see oak or lighter with the white crib). But neither scream "YES" to me. Let's keep shopping (LOL Easy for me to say) OK list of what you don't need LOL and this is just a quicky that I'm sure I can add to... Changing table (we got that but to make the list official) Expensive burp cloths - the modern ones are not 100% cotton and the ummm to put it nicely, "burp" does not soak into the cloth, but instead slides ever so quickly down onto whatever you set the cloth on, or your hand. Cheap white cotton washcloths work better than anything (buy 12 for 50 cents or whatever at costco). You can wipe, wash, and repeat many times (my son was very very very ill at birth, "burping" was his specialty so I know of what I speak! Expensive bottles...those playtex with the drop in liners you throw away are heaven. If you buy the fancy things, they really don't help a sick child (again I know this from experience) and their a pain in the arse to wash. Baby wipe warmer...you're going to some day change their diaper in another location without a warming oven for the changing pads. While the warmer sounds lovely to us...and probably feels good to them, you set them up for sore disapointment when they get a cold wippie swiped over their private parts...and honey that WILL happen. I don't recommend storing them in the car in the winter in alaska (they freeze LOL) but don't warm them...it just confuses the little tikes and being born is confusing enough! I will be the one person to say invest in a huge 0 to 3 month wardrobe because my son wore his until he was one...but that's not normal. One needed thing is a preemie outfit to leave the hospital in. Unless you are a family of 10lb babies, you'll find that an average 8lb baby at birth is still skinny and a 0 to 3 month outfit hangs on them. While they may only wear it for one week, it's nice to have a couple nice outfits, especially on go home day, and a 0 won't fit a skinny newborn. (Strike that if you have a family full of ten lb babies...and if so...geeze honey I'm sorry!) If you do have a preemie, skip the expensive baby stores for outfits. Walmart has a huge selection (huge in terms of preemie cloths) at reasonable prices, and unless they're my son they won't wear them long. My son's wardrobe was donated to a pair of twins because their parents didn't have the money to outfit preemies separately from regular sized babies (they had micropreemies...the worst to shop for). I've seen the pics...those girls looked gorgeous in my son's blue's LOL People will try and help you to the point of sheer annoyance. If it's not going to kill you or the child, bite your tounge, or do what I did...fill your mouth with wine. Oh wait that's not a "what we don't need" you need more wine glasses :oP A cradle frankly, it's honestly a pure luxury item that should be thought of as such. (I had to have one LOL) Bouncy seats (could be a personal thing) but babies do love vibrators. Here's a silly one....After spending umpteen million bucks on brand new things like vibrator seats and bouncy seats hoping they'd calm my uncalmable child...I now know I could have bought them at a high end second hand baby store for 1/4 the price. you use them just a few months...so if it's cleanable, and it's in like new condition, would you rather pay $189 for the swing or $45? If you're going to breast feed ask about the guards you use between your breast and the baby's mouth. It's only given to mom's when they're experiencing bleeding and pain, but in the NICU we all get them...no pain with breastfeeding EVER! If the kid starts out with them they don't know the difference and you don't experience pain where you shouldn't ever!! I'm straying LOL So ummm bumperpads! My son barfed all over his so many times I gave up and got rid of them...they're a pain in the kiester to wash. They have these great nets now that work like the pad that I'd use after they start squirming (but before...fall for temptation, the danged things are cute...after they can move, they're just another assistant to help the baby climb out of the crib). Buy a music and lights thingie for the crib day one. Every time you put that baby down you hit the music (preferably one on a timer that goes 30 mins). Not a mobile, but one that when the baby is older they can turn on themselves. At 3, if DS wakes at night and is nervous in his own room he hits his light show (as we call it). He has one for traveling and at home and no matter where he is this centers his little brain and allows him to concentrate on it and go to sleep. This has been a godsend in hospitals where sleep is difficult to come by, but also works when converting a baby to a toddler bed and beyond to a "big boy/girl bed" humidifiers, baby oil, baby powder, baby lotion...that's all for us :) A cup to cover their wee wee so they don't squirt you...umm that won't be an issue for you LOL so nevermind. Go dresser shopping again heh heh

CountryGirl217 - if you happen to still be around these forums I'd love to know what size Top Knobs Aspen pulls you used in various places. I'm planning these pulls and have been debating sizes. It looks like most of your drawers might have the 9 inch pulls. Maybe 18 on the fridge handles. I was thinking mostly 6 inch but 9 on my largest drawers. But I reaply like yours and I think they are likely 9. Not sure on trash and dishwasher. Looks like 18 on fridge.

commenting b/c I just found this thread and I really want to know too! Would love to see pics of the hickory cabinets as well, if they're done. Hickory is one of my husband's choices for the kitchen.
