Thanks Mikie for your reply. Just weird! I loved this feature, and used it often. Actually I just got my computer back from the "hospital" after a really extensive examination, so the computer guy who worked on this may have done something. I'll call him tomorrow. I went into the properties of the mouse, but couldn't find anything to tweak there. Thanks again, Barbb

If a thread has dropped off the last page, you can still post to it but in the vast majority of times it will not reappear in the thread list. There have been the very rare occurrences when a thread has suddenly reappeared...but I don't know if that was the result of the problems we were having with the Forum at the time (when the list was repopulated they reappeared), if there was a hiccup, or if there is some mysterious combination of events that brings a thread back! Regardless of whether the thread reappears, your post will show up when people bring the thread up via a direct link.

Yep..still having problems, but not as bad. Still annoying enough that I don't come as often. I refuse to change anything on my computer to "fix" the problem. Seems like everytime I try to fix one thing..something else goes wrong! If so many are having problems..the problem has to be on GardenWeb's end...let them tweak and fix it!!

Not sure what your budget is, but I have the DeWalt DW788 scroll saw. Brand new, with a stand, it will run you $450-$500. You can find deals for less. Saw alone retails for under $400. The Delta P20 is also an excellent saw, but has a belt/pully speed adjusting system, rather than true variable speed. It is priced around the same as the Dewalt. You can get a decent saw for less, but it depends on how much you intend to use it. Dremel, Craftsman and Delta all make saws in the $200 range. I have no personal experience with them, so I won't make recommendations. Features to look for are; variable speed, all controls on the front of the saw, blade changing that doesn't require any tools, dust blower. There are others, but this gets you started. There are several websites you can check out to get more good advice and look for patterns. I don't have the URLs handy, but do a Google search on the following and that will get you started; Rick Hutcheson - lots of good information on saws, techniques, blades, etc Mike Moorlach - same as above, but also sells Flying Dutchman blades, which are pretty highly regarded by a lot of scrollers Sloans - sell patterns, blades, saws, accessories also have links to several other good sites Wildwood Designs - like Sloans, lots of stuff to buy and links to other scrollsaw sites. Also check out the Scrollsaw forums listed or linked on the above sites. You can go there for more scrollsaw specific discussions. Good luck and have fun making sawdust.
