Reminder: postal food pickup
Comments (18)Ran to the store last night to buy more stuff for the blue bag our postman left. I put it out last night so I wouldn't forget, loading it right from the trunk of my car. No need to bring the stuff in the house and then back out again. I try to buy mostly protein and veggies. Hope they like my picks. A customer at the store left 3 baked beans coupons on the shelf where the beans are, so I just used them and bought 3 large cans for the sack. That was nice too....See MoreHeres our Canadian property.... what do you think?
Comments (34)Well, we had our first viewer today! The lady [50's and single] very impressed! Exactly what she has been looking for. Loved the location, property, and privacy. We shall see what will happen. Loralee: 1) We cannot subdivided any smaller than what we have. We have a large Dairy farm 1/2 mile North [cannot smell it], and a large beef farm to the west. Even if we could, it wouldn't be worth trying as those neighbours would fight it, as it would cause problems for their livelihood. If you look at the one photo I posted with the 2 cattle sheds you will see in the far distance our dairy neighbours house. Ours is small and plain in comparison, so I do not think we over built. 2) We built 5 years ago as our old mobile home we had already lived it for 17 yrs old just wasn't cutting it anymore. We built with the intent to live here till we retired, but life has a way of changing plans, and my husband's job place closed down and he bought into a prospering business, everything we do is in town, and with your farming background, then you know what the BSE meant to cattle farmers, which we were as well. Sometimes you need to know when to cut your loses. Its time for a new chapter of our lives to begin. 3) We are renting our our cultivated acres to our dairy neighbour, and rent out our pasture as well. My husband manufactures large bale wagons as well from his shop in the back. No more farming for us. 4) The quality of our land is not exactly for potatoes. We live on a gravel ridge, with awesome drainage, but is better suited for cattle. The cultivated land is great for alfalfa, or cattle corn. We know our property is directed at a specific buyer, and are willing to wait. It only takes one person. Not too worried if Wpg people aren't interested. 5) Yes, we did get different realtors opinions....See MoreDatura Seed Search. Do You Have These?
Comments (28)Well my post as gone cold. So I just thought I wold post a final question, if anyone would know the answer. BTW...I just got my seeds of 'Box of Chocolates' seeds. 6 variates!! But my question is...i am TRYING to grow double yellow daturas, i have been taken advantage of 2 times so far, by 2 sellers, sending me the plain old double purple/white ones. After months of growing then, to only get those blooms, ICK!! So this is my third try and 3rd seller. I have seedlings up, these are taking a lot longer to grow than the others, but my question is, if THESE ARE the double yellow, would the stems by a lighter green, instead of the dark green/purplish color I have gotten 2 times already? The first and second set of true leaves are DARK green, nothing light about these seedlings. Will double yellow or even double white daturas, have lighter green stems? Or lighter leaves? Or does the stem color have nothing to due with the bloom colors? 'Purple Specks' on Ebay, now $4 for 30 seeds. I managed to get 6 variates...and triple white datura seeds. So...this should be fun:) !!!...See MoreMay I complain about the postal service again?
Comments (19)One of our replacement PO carriers delivered all the odd numbered mail to the even side and the even numbered mail to the odd side. Twice. Our regular carrier is wonderful. He actually cares and comments if something goes wrong. Re tracking. We were waiting for a kayak last year. We purchased through LL Bean (we live nearby), but they were out of the one we wanted. The manufacturer insisted on sending it by a national trucking carrier. After several weeks of waiting, we were told that although the shipping paperwork documented the kayak made it to the local facility, the kayak itself was not on the truck. It "fell off" somewhere in upstate New York. I finally was told that often paperwork gets scanned, but items do not to save the carrier time. We had to start over and finally received the kayak that we purchased in April at the end of August. Next time we will go with something in the store no matter what the color is. Sigh....See MoreTanya H
