Dark floor in small bathroom wrong??
Comments (5)I have a powder room with dark gray/silver/charcoal/black Ostrich Gray Slate floors, white fixtures, white trim, white walls. I absolutely love the look. Personally, I'd probably keep the walls a lighter color, but white is certainly not a necessity. I think you'll be fine with dark floors....See MoreBathroom color for old blue hexagon floor and white everywhere?
Comments (5)Based on your post it sounds like you may want something other than light blue or grey. If so I think you could do any number of colors on the wall if you pull a little more blue into the accessories so the blue becomes an accent rather than the focus. Maybe a soft yellow or turquoise with bright accents: [Traditional Bathroom[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-bathroom-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_712~s_2107) by Dallas Interior Designers & Decorators Dona Rosene Interiors or a more formal look with taupe wallpaper and floral accessories: [Traditional Bathroom[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-bathroom-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_712~s_2107) by San Francisco Interior Designers & Decorators ADEENI DESIGN GROUP What would your ideal be if you didn't have the tile as a limitation? is there a way to tie the tile into your dream?...See MoreIs Crossville Savoy Hexagon of decent quality for bathroom floors
Comments (2)I have Crossville Savoy in my kitchen, but on the backsplash. It seems very durable, but mine is a high gloss finish. I imagine it would be very slick when wet, so I would be careful to have a rug or mat by the tub. Or does it come in a matte finish too? I would think a child's bath is fairly light traffic. My kid's bathrooms are on the second floor, probably rarely see shoes and would have minimal dirt tracked that far from outside anyway. I think you'd be okay as far as traffic level....See Morepolished or honed marble herringbone for bathroom floor
Comments (3)I have honed Calacatta marble in my master bath and polished in my guest bathroom. I don't find the polished to be more slippery but my tiles are smaller so there is lots of grout to grip so the surface of the tile is essentially irrelevant. I deliberately opted for honed tile in the master bath because I wanted a softer feel - my marble counter is also honed. Honed still have a sheen but it is more satin than glossy. The polished marble is "snappier" looking - for want of a better description. It also doesn't get much use so I wasn't concerned about etching although etching - at least in my opinon - is no big deal as it is hard to see anyway unless the light is hitting it right and you are squinting :-)....See Morebergiesgirl
