Racist Cookies Spark Outrage

elvis

It's true. Cookies were spotted in the window of an Edmonds, Washington bakery by a vigilent morality monitor and duly reported to the opinion police via the internet. Here is what happened.

Ken Bellingham, owner of Edmonds Bakery, told NBC-affiliate King 5 News that the pink-frosted heart cookie was meant as a joke, not a political statement. Customer Ana Carrera snapped a photo of the cookie sitting in a display case at the bakery and shared it on Facebook. She said the message on the cookie is no laughing matter.

“A cookie like this does represent that there is some hate coming out this bakery,” she told the news outlet. “Whether he chooses to admit it or not.”

“Hatred and racism is NOT a joke. Not even on a cookie,” Facebook user Henry John Bridger II wrote on the bakery’s page. “If you say it was a ‘mistake’, it shows us who you are to your core — a racist. If you truly weren’t a racist you would have never even made that cookie or thought it would be a joke.” Another outraged Facebook user by the name of Rich Wending suggested people stop shopping at the bakery.

I fail to see any humor in "Build That Wall." It was either stupid (unlikely) or showed his feelings about the wall. Not that it matters but that bakery was just a couple of blocks down the street from my office when I was practicing law. I went to it many times. Very good products.

OH, another tender hearted liberal got all bunched up because of a cookie in a window and reported it!

You can't make this stuff up.

God help us if we're invaded, these snowflakes crumble faster than that cookie!

What is it with leftists and bakeries?

The problem is the Left has conflated building the wall with racism and suddenly, protecting our borders from invaders is somehow evil.

The real danger are these deranged snowflakes are going to threaten and possibly harm this baker...for a cookie.

They look delicious.

You righties do realize that the reason this is post-worthy is because it’s ridiculous, right? I’m pretty sure none of the posters here would call a news team over a cookie with a campaign slogan on it.

another tender hearted liberal got all bunched up

As opposed to a cold-hearted conservative getting all bunched up...........?

I'll have to remember that one

So conservatives approve of racist cookies, it would seem

Stan, do I have to remind you EVERY DAY that you're an independent? That's a better joke than the cookies.

What?

Being an independent is just that--not complying with ANYONE'S expectations or agreeing with a position in order to "belong."

The joke must be on you.

Go try again FAIL

Stan, I think you actually defined "anarchist" ;-)

Nope. This is anarchy: a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority, i.e., lawlessness. Not "expectations" nor "going along with the crowd in order to be accepted".

Anarchist schools of thought can differ fundamentally, supporting anything from extreme individualism to complete collectivism.[15] Strains of anarchism have often been divided into the categories of social and individualist anarchism or similar dual classifications.[26][27][28]
