vanity colour deep green or navy blue?

Hi! I am currently renovating our bathroom and torn with the vanity colour. My finishes at this point are all white (Bianco Statuario floor tile, hex shower floor tile and elongated hex shower wall)

My tub is going to be set in a cedar tub surround with dark stain.

The vanity will be my pop of colour. Thinking a really deep dark green or navy blue. Would love someone’s thoughts, open to other colour ideas. I will be painting the vanity. 48” single sink vanity will have a quartz top and chrome faucets.

Or, you could try good 'ole BM Hale Navy.

Posted this several months ago. finally getting around to actually painting the walls. I love beeswax color suggestion but my sofa is a darker shade. Either way I'm going to grab a paint chip sample of beeswax. My living room is basically a large box with with a large french door. My floors are dark polished concrete and I have a huge jute rug. the french door trim is painted white and furniture is medium wood tones. I know it sounds completely boring to the pros here but Im looking for a pottery barn type style. Something I can live with for a long time. I'm really thinking about just buying off white slipcovers but I thought I would try to get some more recommendations before I spend money I don't really have. btw, my sofa and loveseat are basic with square arms and my ceiling is low :( 8ft so not sure a dark color would work. Here is a picture of a living room I'd love to have. Thanks ahead of time and sorry for the long post.

Ugh, outlet on navy blue island...help...outlet in another color?

I told the GC and the electrician that we couldn't put an outlet on the panel under a seating overhang but they didn't listen and we failed the inspection. You can't have an outlet under an overhang of more than 6". The inspector did say that we could use a surface mounted box right at the edge of the overhang. It's ugly and I hate it. We are going to figure out a better solution. I have seating on 2 sides of the island, a bookshelf on the other short side, and drawers all across the front. I REALLY wish we had planned a strip at the top of the drawers for a few outlets. As for the OP's question, I would paint the outlet and cover plate to match the island.

The rug is OK and I am loathe to tell someone to spend extra money when they just asked about curtains, but if you have an alternate spot for the rug or don't mind donating it to charity or something, I think you could do better with a different rug. The rug you have is nice, but very geometric and a whole different color palette than the couch. They kind of fight for dominance in the room. You might be able to find a rug that plays nicer with your couch, in terms of color and design. Maybe just work on the curtains, not worry too much about the rug, but then after you get the curtains, keep your eyes out for a better rug that "ties the room together." (Esoteric movie reference from "The Big Lebowski.") Use the floral design from the couch as your color palette when making choices for the room. Don't worry about the walls, they are pale enough to fade into the background once you get the curtains and some art up on the walls.

Since you're looking for harmony through the whole apartment, can you pull a color for the bedroom's accent wall from the den's wallpaper or a color with a similar tone? What colors are in the wallpaper? Or since your accent colors in the navy living room are gold and white, maybe a bold gold for the accent wall? I don't think a teal would flow very well from the navy.

This is our main bath for the house which is a 1940s craftsman cape cod type home. We are currently renovating the house as we just moved in so developing a colour scheme but we tend to lean towards post-modern furniture, Scandinavian hygge (aka eclectic). Our walls are white and natural tones, black door nobs/hinges and arctic white hardwood floors.

I believe the green color is Farrow & Ball Carriage Green. I love greens and blues. I don't think you could go wrong with either one!

I would not use a dark color. I would use a color like this:

I think it works better with wood tones.

Do you have a picture of the tub surround? What style is the cabinet?

Yes, a picture of the vanity would help with visualizing. I like the lighter green, above, in a Craftsman Cape Cod with your tile. Your grays do not look like the strong streaks of gray that are needed to stand up to a dark color, to me.

There is never a reason for a "pop of color" and certainly a master bathroom is the last place you would want that. You are already taking a full ride on a dying trend with your other choices, so I would not recommend jumping on another trend band wagon of painting the cabinets a dark random color. Stick with something classic and light and clean looking.

Here's another pic showing Hale Navy. I would look at the colors from the historical collection from Benjamin Moore. I typically use the paint selections from this collection, since they are timeless.

Hale Navy is a classic. It’ll look great with the Statuario and the cedar will warm everything up. It’s a tricky color to match, if you’re not getting it from BM, so look closely at samples. Good luck, it sounds like a nice palette!
