Comments (15)Most often, it's this time of the year, after a winter without getting much light/sun. Sandy, [above].. got to the point with her greenhouse. We need more real sunlight. There was a talk about light, in 1987, Billy Meier & ET Quetzal, scroll down to just below 156 in link. some of the talk... through the changed lighting conditions and, thus, through unsuitable, artificial light. Stomach and intestinal troubles as well as serious stomach and intestinal diseases can be the result, as well as bad depressions and aggressiveness and also dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, and a general functional impairment of the immune system. Comments (36)rhizo, I told my endocrinologist about my problems with the pills and said I was sunbaking instead. She basically said that people in her profession would like people to get more sun exposure since vit d deficiency is really common now, but also said, if you talk to a dermatologist they're against it and all about skin cancer risks so even among doctors the attitude really varies. I don't think the injections are available in my country anyway, only the d3 pills, but I have read alot about sun exposure and I'm confident that I do it safely. I don't bake myself or anything, just get small amounts at a time which my endo is ok with. I figure if I have vit d deficiency then Im just not getting enough sun anyway and I have to admit I've probably been too cautious with sun exposure in the past....See MoreVitamin D3
Comments (27)Chisue, I've always been an outdoors girl and still am. I've never been good about sunscreens either since I don't really burn other than a couple of tropical vacations. The year my endo was asking about my sun exposure, I thought she was easing into delivering a real scolding since I was so tan that summer, saw her in July that year. She was more interested in my Vit D level which was low even with my bronzy skin and a good diet. So you never know, unless tested. DH works outdoors and is rarely in his office, he spends more daylight hours outside than in. His lab report from his annual physical about 10 years ago showed him at the lowest number possible before dropping below the 'normal' range for Vit D. His doctor didn't call attention to it but DH began taking the same amount Vit D that I do (1500 - 2000 iu) and he's been solidly within the normal range each year since....See MoreElizabeth
