Lara Trump tells federal workers that their missed paychecks are sacrifices for the ‘future of our country’.

"As the longest government shutdown in U.S. historypersists, Lara Trump is urging federal employees to “stay strong,” noting that they are sacrificing “for the future of our country” — a message that drew criticism.

Trump, who is President Trump’s daughter-in-law and campaign adviser, told the digital news network Bold TVearlier this week that the president is fighting for “what he knows is the right thing to do.”

“It’s not fair to you, and we all get that, but this is so much bigger than any one person,” she said. “It is a little bit of pain, but it’s going to be for the future of our country, and their children and their grandchildren and generations after them will thank them for their sacrifice right now. I know it’s hard. I know people have families, they have bills to pay, they have mortgages, they have rents that are due. But the president is trying every single day to come up with a good solution here and, the reality is, it’s been something that’s gone on for too long and been unaddressed — our immigration problem."

Imagine if what she said were true. Wouldn't that be nice? of course it's not true at all but I do like to fantasize sometimes. Oh well.

Sounds like something the Chinese government tells their people as they're choking to death in the smog in their cities.

I can't believe she had the GALL to say something like that. What the hell is wrong with these people??

Funny how this outrages the Left, but Pelosi jetting off to Hawaii, Dems playing on the beach in Puerto Rico and rubbing elbows at the Hamilton party, and Pelosi attempting to abscond the country for an entire week while workers go without a 2nd paycheck doesn't elicit THE GALL.

I think what Lara Trump said was patronizing, but that pales in comparison to Pelosi.

Oh, she kicked illegal immigrants off her property, too.

Weren't you the one outraged at Pelosi in Puerto Rico? Didn't that turn out to be a big lie?

Lara, can I call you Lara? That was a great book Dr. Zhivago; there was a lot of suffering back then too with the Russian leaders abusing their power, did you see the movie? Omar Sharif was magically masculine, and Julie Christie was stunning. Anyway, this is by the by; you don't have a twitter account so that you can share whatever pops into your head instantly? You should, then when you change your mind or find the Bolsheviks closing in you can roll it back and say something entirely different and pretend that it is 1917 all over again.

Outraged that Pelosi took a personal trip before starting her job, and outraged that she tried to take a business trip after she started her job, Becca merely prefers the new Republican trend to allow gov't employees to work for free, but vacay on the taxpayers' dime. :)

So it was great and admirable for Trump to go overseas during the shut down but Pelosi tries to do it and it's a scandal?

I suggest that she set an example for those who are going without a paycheck. She gets a bank account with the take home pay of a military E-6 that lives in housing. She has to support herself and her family for 2 months with the money in the account on day 1. They can only bring a small suitcase full of clothes and personal items. She gets a typical house in military housing and a pantry and linen closet with a limited amount of staples. At least one child has to have a birthday during the two month period. She can receive no help from anyone, including her family.

She doesn't even get the luxury of saying she was born this way. She married into it.

Lara trump, campaign advisor? Another family member getting a pay check from this administration? Is Barron advising him too?
