Windows Live Mail Problem
Comments (10)Try this: 1. open your start menu and search "cmd" 2. Right click on the search result which should be a program and run as admin 3. when the command box open type "sfc /scannow" 4. Restart the computer after it is done. 5. See if the problem still persists On a side note there is a good chance it might ask for the windows 7 disc if have the appropriate disc pop it in. If not purchase or complain to windows and they might send you the install disc if they are in a really good mood or if you have a friend who has one all the same. All it is really asking for is a comparison. Ultimately, what sfc /scannow does is checks the integrity of windows related files and repairs them if needed. Try that and if that is not the case I might suggest a bit more radical solution. This post was edited by pipsydoodles on Thu, Mar 6, 14 at 23:51...See MoreYahoo mail problems?
Comments (29)Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?)....See MoreMail Delivery and Pick Up
Comments (19)I'm a little curious about something. First off--I was raised in the suburbs where the mail carrier walks his route, carring a large heavy mail bag, brings the mail to your door/porch, and puts it in the mail box attached to your house, or through the slot in your front door. Now, I have a house in a more rural area where we have the box at the street, and the carrier drives his route, just reaching out the window to deposit the mail. To me, it's rude to ask the mail carrier to pick up mail. He's got enough to do and carry, just delivering the mail. I would never--out of consideration of him/her--every put mail out for them to pick up, unless it was an absolute emergency and I was unable to get out and go a couple of blocks to a post box. Also, while I do have a locking mailbox in the country, the top part, where you would put outgoing mail doesn't lock (how would the mailman access it if I locked it with my key???), and it's very accessible to anyone walking or driving up and down the street. Now, granted, my feeling that it's wrong to expect the postman to pick up mail stems a lot from my background in the suburbs. I have noticed that corner postboxes are a little fewer and further between in the country, making it a little more difficult--you can't just walk a block or 2 to the corner mailbox. Although you can find some if you look for them (the closest mailbox I've found is about .8 mile away, at the supermarket, so it's not that inconvenient to take the mail there). I'd be curious to hear your comments, and feelings on the subject of whether you think it's right to even ask the postman to pick up outgoing mail. Anyone a mail carrier and have an opinion? or have you discussed this with your mail man?...See MoreHow is the US Mail Delivery in Your Area?
Comments (73)A financial company we deal with decided to send tokens of appreciation to it's customers. A small metal ornament. They took the many envelopes to their local post offices for weighing and attached the postage. When our 'gift' came it was NSF to the tune of $3.50. The financial company took the issue up with their post office and was told they could not explain the charge. After checking with other ornament recipients it was discovered we were the only customers who were charged the extra fee. I am pretty sure this was all on our local post office!! I often send my mother the hallmark three dimensional fold out cards with lights and music. The last one I attempted to send was returned to me for $5 MORE postage!! I had three forever stamps on it already--as I always do. Now I am feeling there is a person at our local post office who gets miffed when things need hand canceling and takes their aggression out by making up charges!! There is no way to email or even send a letter to the local post master but boy would I like to get to the bottom of this!!...See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
