Mixing metal in kitchen and the rest of the house

Complete remodel of a house and running into an issue. All doorknobs in the house will be black. I wanted to put black hardware on my white shaker cabinets (Countertop will be calacatta vicenza -white with slight gray veins). I am torn about the three light pendants that will hang over the island. I would like a brushed nickel faucet in the island sink as it will go well with the stainless appliances, gray sink, and countertop, but I don’t know if I should do black or nickel pendants. ALSO, the kitchen opens up to the dining room which has mission-style table and navy blue walls. I feel that a black metal chandelier in that room is too dark against the navy, but feel that maybe the kitchen and dining room light fixtures should match since they are almost all one room!!!! SO: Should I go with nickel hardware on the cabinets/pendants/dining room or is it ok to go with black hardware on the cabinets and .... then what metal on pendants and chandelier??
