Breaking a concrete paver
Comments (13)If you have a regular circular saw, you can buy a quality dry diamond blade for anywhere from $15-$40. I've cut dozens of pavers/edgers of all sizes with the DeWalt blade I bought several years ago. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to use if you're comfortable using a circular saw. I bought mine at Lowe's 3 years ago for $15 and it still cuts fine. You don't need water to cool it but it's recommended you use a dust mask, eye protection and ear plugs, work slowly, and make multiple passes on anything over 2 inches thick. You can cut straight through a 1.5" paver with one. I've even cut 3.5" retaining wall blocks with mine using multiple passes from both sides. I do use multiple passes regardless of thickness because the saw doesn't work as hard and it's easier than making one deep cut. I use mine on a 25 year old Skil Saw and have never had a problem except when I've been off with my measurements. Oh, and one time when I forgot to set the paver I was cutting on top of another to avoid cutting a nice little groove in our driveway. That was a slap-your-forehead, "Ohhhhhhhhh, *bleep*" moment....See MoreBioBidet Installed! Who knew I'd like a warm seat?
Comments (5)Ah! Thanks Herring Maven! I actually had to do research online, and there wasn't really any info on the intricacies of actually using the thing! I was doing it backwards...dryer then blotting. Will try that way next time! In fact one site said I had to flush before using the dryer (for obvious reasons, it said). Well, I couldn't stomach the idea of sitting there while toilet flushed (for obvious reasons), and just couldn't find any info anywhere to corroborate that! Have since found (now that I'm 24 hours experienced...LOL), that I don't have to sit for complete cycles of washing or drying. Guess I will learn when enough is enough! I have found the dryer sometimes encourages me to 'leak a little', and then I have to start the process all over...guess I'm going to have to educate myself...am really happy though...not sure if DH will ever use it...but I'm betting the engineer in him will give in eventually! LOL Enduring, the moment I stepped on our tile floor, I went "oh crap (no pun intended), maybe I should have got underfloor heating!" DH has since discovered a product that we could install under the subfloor from the basement...that may be a viable option. Will see how I endure (pun intended) using the BR with cold floors! What I love and hate about this whole DIY home reno is that we are sort of blindly trudging through new territory for us. What sometimes seems commonplace on GW is totally foreign, so I really dismissed needing underfloor heating and I assumed I would never use the seat warmer either. Not only has it not been turned off, today I turned it up one notch! But, I am thinking it will go off once warm weather arrives. BTW, I keep my house @ 60F during the day in winter, so I like it on the cool side....See MoreI always knew I'd (insert yours here).....

Comments (18)They need a plant festival in charlotte county, dang it. I've not heard of one. i might stop by hd tomorrow. I was planning on heading to the beach for mom's day and home depot is on my way. As for bromeliads, i received a couple way back at a in person garden web plant trade. They were 2 different ones. I planted them in two different pots. But when i went to divide them for the first time the one had over grew the other and i only had one variety in both pots. Its now growing happily under my oak. It covers a huge area now, like maybe a 10' x 6’ area. Its the first plant to bloom after winter....See Moreskibby (zone 4 Vermont)
