Comments (1)I am extending my trials to a seventy feet long 20 inch wide bed. I have dug a trench eight inch deep and laid a polythene sheet to conserve water and to allow watering from bottom ensuring just moist and airy soil for hydroponic like results. The bed thus is equivalent to a seventy feet long pot. The far end is about one foot lower in elevation. My domestic water supply will be connected to a float valve. The float valve is to be installed in a vessel collecting excess drained water of the bed at the far end. A seventy feet long pipe line carries water from the float valve to the bottom of the bed at the near end. The float valve is to be set to open when the far end is just too dry and the water level in the vessel drops. When the float valve opens a pipe line will carry water from the float valve to the near end. -Ananda Munasinghe...See MoreSod (turfgrass-lawn) and hydroponic system
