Design Dilemma Home Decorating living room

Need decor help for outdated living room

Need help with layout in room with challenges. Currently thinking about solid couch (probably leather recliner couch) and two fabric/print couches, two small end tables. I am thinking of trying this layout but it seems crowded..but my furniture has been up against the wall for years. I am also including some fabrics I am considering for the chairs.

Here is how I would layout your room. I would not select an area rug. You can add color with art, accessories and some of your upholstery.

I would recommend you float a median cabinet under your pony wall and place the TV on the wall under the top cap. I think you have the room for this.

My advice would be to go on Houzz and start some idea books to figure what your style is . Right now all you will get is dozens of ideas that will keep you more confused than ever. We need info to help with this.

Yes, arrangement looks much better!! If you are anxious to paint, you could roll out the Natural Wicker, as you are going to need a primer anyway over that deep paint. Won't hurt to use is as basically a primer. I can't really recommend a paint until you are finished with the room. Your next step will be chairs, lamps, end tables, lamps (I would get a nesting coffee table or oval), art and drapes (which are too short).

is there two love seats and 1 sofa? Room measurements would help. I'd put the TV where that arch mirror is leaning. Center the rug on the fireplace. Change out the ceiling fan.light kit. what is the area on the left a doorway into what room? I'd put the sofa on the inside wall... closer to the fireplace to you can walk around the entire seating area . ( sofa and a love seat facing each other ) a credenza along that wall with a nice lamp, vase, ... your room has alot of opportunity for layering.
