Shower glass door on hinges are so heavy they don't "slam". With a self-centering hinge there is nothing to "slam" into, and it can swing in or out. You can put the door pretty much in any position you wish. If you really push it hard, it will go slightly past center then come back, self-centering, in the closed position. If you can find a local glass/mirror/shower door company, they usually have ones set up for you to try. -Babka

Probably because the door is too tight to the jambs creating an OBSTRUCTION and the opener force safety system is sensing this. What I mean is when a door opens it opens at an angle away from the wall. The vertical tracks are the tracks that the door is in when is it fully closed are adjustable. As the door opens it comes away from the wall and as it closes it gets closeer to the wall. The tracks might be too tight causing the door to jamb up on the way down. Disconnect the door from the opener. Close the door manually. Is it hard to close half way down? If so check to make sure that the door panels are not digging into the door jambs. Check to make sure that one of the sections has not buckled on you when the door is up. If you get to the point where the door is binding up and there is clearance between the door and the jamb look at the 2nd or 3rd section if it is folding inward towards the ground, push it straight up in the middle of the section while pullin the door closed at the same time. The door is being obstructed by something. That is the only way the opener rail is going to bow up.

"Two sets of doors don't close properly now" Doesn't come close to telling the story. Do the doors bind together when closed? Will the doors close individually? If not, are they hitting the stop, or the jamb on the hinge side?

Sophie and salex: Regarding adjusting the hinges in all dimensions, I have already tried adjusting all the screws (that is why the cabinet door in the right is a little higher than the one on the left) and it just seemed to make everything worse. But I can try again. Do you have suggestions for how to go about doing this? Should I adjust them all to one extreme or the other and then start tweaking various dimensions? you noticed that the doors are not parallel at the top but what you can’t see is that due to my adjustments the doors on the double cabinet are “out” or forward of all the other doors in the bank. I did have a “cabinet handyman” come out and try the same and he was unable to align them so that they could close. He got good reviews on Angie’s List but maybe he just didn’t know what he was doing? I’d gladly pay someone with experience and expertise to come and do it for me - my own experience was that each adjustment made the overlap even worse than before, so I stopped.
