wine fridge and/or wine rack?
Comments (9)Our plan is to have a fully developed basement with wine cellar, but we're not sure when we can complete this. We can keep wine stored in a cool place until then but regardless if wine cellar is done immediately or down the road we would like to a the wine fridge in kitchen for immediate and short term consumption. We drink more red than white but with a wine fridge can start to enjoy whites more frequently. After reading above posts I'm not going to do the wine rack as we have so much window light and a sky light that would affect the reds stored in a rack. Here's another related question: we can get a 15" Subzero wine fridge (unclaimed order that salesperson wants to blow out of his store) for the same price as a 24" Marvel. Although SZ is superior and the price is incredibly low , I"m leaning towards the 24". Thoughts? Anyone have a Marvel wine fridge? Comments (19)Heat is ejected from the bottom into the room, I'm assuming there may be minor dissipation from the back to the top since my refrigerator requires one inch at the back and top for air circulation. It may depend on the energy efficiency of the unit. Of course the compressor has some minor vibration but if it is vibrating the cabinet next to it there is a problem. I can barely hear nor feel mine with hands on the fridge. Regardless, you all should experiment with yours and see if you have temperature fluctuation between your cabinets. My fridge has no effect on my adjacent cabinets which was the original question. I keep long term storage in the basement and short term in the cab next to my fridge. stillpitpat is looking for a practical solution. I don't think she has the space nor $$ for a Wine Spectator solution of storing wine between 45-65 degrees with no UV light....See MoreCorner wine rack insert

Comments (2)IMO we need a bit of info . 1st what do you need in way of storage like how many bottles for sure. Why do you need custom , there are 100s of beautiful wine racks to be found that are not custom. Are you having a tasting space in the wine cellar. What is your style ?...See MoreKirsten E.
