Need help finding 27" wall oven that is short enough
Comments (3)Then there is the Gaggenau with side opening door. I don't quite understand your layout. I don't know if the side opening door helps or hinders. They sell right hinge and left hinge doors. This is a top shelf oven. Comments (18)I've been shopping for a couch and possibly a love seat or a chair or two depending on what layout I can make work. I'm 5'1" and I think I've sat in about half the couches in stores the Sacramento area now. Most stores have between none and 2 models that work for me. Sat in one Flexsteel that almost worked for me so they have some that will work for you depending how short you are. Scandanavian Designs had a few that worked well. The Pavia sofas and chairs were relatively reasonably priced and comfortable for me and my 5' 10" husband. The Ekornes Stressless sofas are extremely comfortable for us but cost a lot more. We are currently debating whether to go with the very expensive Ekornes or the much cheaper not quite as comfortable still very comfortable Pavia. There were a few at Lazyboy (of all places) that were about as comfortable as the Pavia and I'm thinking of going back there to look at their reclining sofas now that we're considering the Stressless reclining sofas. Lazyboy has some pretty transitional not-your-father's Lazyboy models. At both the Lazyboy store and Scandanavian Designs, the sales person was good at directing me to sofas that would work for a short person. I still tried a few other ones to check their judgement but the good sales staff saved me time and effort. Ikea couches didn't work for me. They were too deep and a bit too high. I found a model at Crate and Barrel that was okay but not as good a fit as the others I've mentioned and style wise it wasn't as good a fit either....See MoreHelp - Hood height above range - dilemma for short people?
Comments (10)Ours is 28.25. 8 ft ceiling, 6 inches trim (36 in standard uppers), 15 in upper above hood, small trim spacer to allow proper hood attachment (not exactly sure what, but GC said we needed it), and 9 in tall hood results in 28.25 in clearance. I was hoping for 30, but it's really plenty high enough to avoid, even at 22 in deep. We are 5'4" and 5'6". Mid reno, but best pic I have at the moment....See MoreLooking for double wall ovens with one full size, one short
Comments (9)You're laughing but people do put a pair of ranges side by side rather than getting a 60" range, for instance. Because 30" ranges are mass produced, two cost significantly less. Look around some more. You do not need either a speed oven or a steam oven. They're nice. I have one of each. But you don't need it. The issue is your desire for a compact double oven unit. How small is your kitchen that saving a few inches would really help? Is it the oven height issue, really? Or the not wanting to give over space. Usually when you stack separate units, like a combi-steam oven over a full sized oven, by the time you've put in the necessary cabinetry and supports, you're not really saving much vertical space. A single unit double oven saves space because there's only one control panel. There are a number of combo units with a convection-microwave or speed oven and a regular oven, many of them at accessible prices. GE and Bosch are both in the mid-range. I don't know what your budget is, but I wouldn't want one of the lower end ones. Remember, when it fails, you lose both ovens if they're a single unit. If the issue is really the height of the ovens, consider put two side by side, or even one here and one there. If the issue is that you really don't need the second oven, or not very often, consider whether a portable oven would suffice for the extra duty. Breville countertop ovens are very well regarded and many people like them better than their low end wall ovens. Nesco roasters come in many sizes and can do many of the things that an oven can. There are also catering grade freestanding convection ovens. If your kitchen is too small to pull one out for the holidays, for instance, you can use a portable on any heat proof surface that isn't being used while company is there, such as the top of the dryer, or a desk. There are all kinds of ways of solving the problem, but first, define what your function needs are....See MoreZalco/bring back Sophie!
