You do not have to use it as an island/bar. (Paint the black corbel supports white which will help them disappear.). Now this piece can become a serving station for the dining room.

Pratima - To be clear, are you referring to the long row of cabinets up against the window wall as a “buffet” or are you referring to the island as a buffet?

Pratime, do you mean the extra kitchen base cabinets that are under the window and extend to wall with sliding glass doors? Two sets of floating shelves on either side of the window and above the tile backsplash would allow you to display decorative vases, candles, art, a collection of objects meaningful to you, etc. And a painting on the wall with the glass sliding doors.

I like the island, no problem with that. Just wanted to decorate the dining area so it looks like a separate space and not an extension of the kitchen
