Echinopsis hybrids

last modified: 5 years ago

Well, I had kept my echinopsis out till November, when we would hit our first night below 25F. I had intentions of moving them to the laundry room (where they would be about 50F), but with the mass migration that time of year, they ended up in the bedroom window. It probably is about 60F there and the buds are forming now (for flowering). It seems a bit early and I hope it goes well inside rather than buds drying up and falling off. Guess it's time to step up the watering, I'd only watered twice since they came in, but that won't do the trick now I'm guessing. Mix is very gritty, so I will probably slow step them up to a once a week watering (probably by end of month).

I will put them outside as soon as I feel I can. It may not be long (for at least a temporary move) as we have only one day below freezing in the next 15 days weather forecast.

Anyone want to tell me either what an idiot I am or reassure me (lol)?
