I can't figure out my orange tree, looks like its dying
Comments (7)I should amend my comment to add that the other factor determining length of watering will also be your soil type - loam, sandy, or clay (or some combination). Forgot to mention that rather key piece of info :-) Even though my soil is mainly DG, it is dense in spots, so some of my trees will fill up quicker (not soaking in as quickly), and other trees look like the wells are not as full, but in fact it's more due to how quickly the water is percolating right in that spot, and not a factor of how much water it's receiving. Bottom line for you - water, water, more water! Nice big well, fill it with compost and worm castings, keeping away from the trunk, then set up your watering regime to make sure you're giving this tree enough water. And, you might consider topping some of the taller branches as well. Will help your tree recover, and will also encourage more lower growth where it's easier to pick. Comments (3)I'd try and focus the seating around the fireplace and leave a path between the kitchen and french doors, to get to whatever is out there. Then I'd put a desk or bookshelves and a chair in the corner under the bar, for perusing my cookbooks, going online while someone was watching TV, doing homework, paying bills, household management, etc. I would try and keep whatever I was trying to do in there out of the path between the kitchen and doorway. That way the spaces will feel more focused, intimate and cozy. On the other hand, if that set-up works for you, then I honestly don't think it is that bad. Just keep on the lookout for art pieces you like and you can gradually deck it out more. Curtains would add an additional layer of cozy. An area rug with a nice pattern in front of the fireplace would "tie the room together." I got a nice wool oriental rug on sale and put it over my living room carpet that was the same color as yours, added an instant feeling of being more than a "pass through" room, which it tended to be also, due to the layout of my house, you had to walk through the middle of the living room to get to the rest of the house. The only downside of putting an area rug over carpet is they tend to shift, but perhaps there are strategies for solving that problem....See MoreI can’t figure out an overhead light in my small living room,
Comments (6)We can't see what you have there now. Your console lamps are great. I would consider adding a floor lamp to the other side of your sofa, and removing the ceiling light. Or, if your ceilings are high, you could put in a semi-flush mount with diffused light that shines upward....See MoreI can’t figure out a good layout for my small walkout basement
Comments (3)OK, at least now I know where windows are and where you are thinking of sectional. Not clear where TV would go but I'm assuming it's the only other wall that remains... at the bottom portion of your image. So then year... an L-shaped sectional where the long end of the sectional goes along/under the windows, and the short end of the sectional goes along the other wall that leads to the staircase. So then the sectional faces the far wall...and the other long end of the room...and where the TV would be. As for taking advantage of the view, if someone wants to do that and not watch TV, then they lay on the short end of the sectional, facing towards the windows. Right? You mention maybe putting a recliner in 'the opposite', but not clear if by 'opposite' you mean the same far wall where the TV would be? If you put a recliner along that far wall, it would obviously have to be on the window side of that far wall vs the bathroom side of that far wall, so as to not block access to the bathroom......See MoreAsh T
