Changing faucets on this 1930's - 1960's bathroom sink possible?

The shared bathroom is a fairly low priority on the long to-do list we have given ourselves in an old, new to us house. Any advice on where to look to find replacement faucet handles for this style sink? And what to consider on the undersides/guts to make it all work? They work OK, although the sink stopper seems frozen in place, there is just pitting on the chrome and they look a bit shabby.

Sorry for the not greatest image, but it's that sink every bungalow/ranch in America built between 1930 and 1960 seems to have.

TIA
