Help with Amtico "wood" floor color with gray cabs
Comments (17)You guys (cawaps, particularly) are so SO so great!! This is what the floors look like laid down. The first pic is French Oak and is a good color (although DH thinks it's dark) but doesn't have much variation and is pretty rustic-looking, which I worry will look dated in a few years. The second pic also has charcoal on the walls but with American Oak installed. I'm worried the American Oak will look too golden, but it brightens up the place and has lots of variation (which DH likes). We'd do wide planks. What do you think?...See MoreWhat color paint with a lt.maple cab. and a deep green granite?
Comments (16)This is my kitchen, too. I don't have pictures yet as I am experiencing some problems getting the right size vent installed over the Blue Star range. Can't wait to start using it! Anyway, I have natural maple cabinets, golden-stained red oak floors, and was fortunate to find a reasonably-priced, beautiful slab of Costa Esmeralda (not installed yet, either), but I used BM powdered sand in my relatively dark kitchen. It reads light yellow except when the sun shines bright in the late afternoon when it is close to white. I really like how it goes with the natural maple. I am a green person (LR & DR) are shades of green, but did not want green close to the cabinets because in some lights, it makes the maple read pink and I wanted the cabinets to stay closer to natural....See Moredark green /blue base cabs, light blue/grey uppers?
Comments (9)Miles Redd did a Farrow and Ball Hague Blue butler's pantry recently. I think it's in either Elle Decor or Traditional Home or Veranda this month. It may give you a color idea. Also, I have seen a kitchen done in Pitch Blue. GORGEOUS. Cannot recall one done with darker blue green lowers and paler blue uppers, but I bet I would love it. Okay, I just searched. I'm fairly certain it's Elle Decor--the one with Suzanne Rheinstein's New York apartment on the cover....See MoreFavorite 'green' paint color for Kitchen with creamy cabs
Comments (32)This is a great thread. I could really use some help from all you folks with experience with green paint -- I think I need to change the wall color in my nearly-finished kitchen. For a number of reasons, I had to keep my old terra cotta colored vinyl floor. My cabinets and trim are BM 01 white -- very bright, and they look great with my Black Venata soapstone. I've put BM Nantucket Gray on the walls -- it's a color I love (my daughter has it in her living room), but I don't think it looks good with the floor. Perhaps they're too much the same value, or perhaps I need a bluer green, or one that's less muddy (Nantucket Gray is one of BM's historical colors, which are not clear colors. I love them all.) Hope it's okay if I I'm post some photos here rather than starting a new thread. As you can see, both the floor and the green walls look different in different lights. The most accurate version of the floor color is in the second picture (at least on my monitor). Unfortunately the contractor had to replace some tiles under the new range, and didn't space them well, so there's a hiccup there, but the tiles toward the left are the most representative of how the floor looks. The tiles in the next picture look darker and redder than they do IRL. (Incidentally I am not keeping the pendents.) If anyone can suggest a shade that they think would look BETTER in the room (perhaps not even green?) I'd really really really appreciate it:...See MoreRelated Professionals
