FPT. It's too bad your marginata had/s Scale. Unless your other plants have bugs, scale/eggs were probably on the plant when purchased. BTW, did you isolate your marginata? I don't know if you want to spend time ridding scale, return or replace with variegated marginata. ???? People here have different methods ridding insects. Some work, some do not. There are two things I do to prevent/kill insects. I dislike chemicals, avoid using as much as possible. Therefore, my plants are sprayed w/a home-made insecticide. Since your plant has scale, I'll explain what I do to rid and avoid those brats! lol Did you ever hear of Fish Emulsion? FE is an organic fertilizer, high in N. It also works, as an insecticide, by spraying foliage. Kills Scale, big time. The owner of a Citrus Nursery in FL once told me they spray their trees w/FE as a Scale preventative. Because my plants never had scale, I half-listened. lol. Then, in 1999, I ordered an Olive Tree. On Day 2 while misting plants, I noticed a brown bump on an olive leaf. I approached the Olive, and discovered, not one, but hundreds of brown bumps. That's when it hit me...SCALE! I immediately phoned the Citrus nursery owner, asking the proper dossage of FE and water. (BTW, olive was purchased elsewhere.) She said, one capful of FE to approximately 16oz water. I mixed FE and water in a 16oz spray bottle, shook thoroughly and sprayed away. 1-2 days later, all signs of scale were gone. A week or two later, 'can't recall,' I applied a second application. FPT, I swear to God, since that day, my plants never contrated scale again. Ever. 2. Every 2-wks during winter, my plants are sprayed w/natural ingredients such as garlic, hot pepper, citrus rind and a few other things. Once a month FE is added to other ingredients, then sprayed. Works like a charm. Forgot to mention. The Olive tree sat between two Citrus trees. Citrus closest branches were loaded w/scale. The morning I sprayed olive tree, neighboring plants were entirely sprayed, too. Can't hurt, right? And, while spraying leaves to rid insects, the plant is also foliar fertilized. The only con about FE is an odor. It has a fishy smell that lasts 2-3 days indoors. There is an odor-less type, but I've never used it so can't comment. Fish Emulsion cost is about 7.99 for a 32oz bottle. Good luck, Toni

There are many of us who are disabled and can fully relate to your situation! I can't do anything that would require standing up or kneeling down. If it can't be done sitting at a table, it just won't get done. But there are plenty of wonderful smaller scale projects that can keep you busy. Best of all, they don't require a lot of room for storage either! It's all about working smarter rather than harder. Not a lot of problem for a creative mind to come up with some wonderful ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your site! I love the natural birdbath, the teapots (especially that Miss Piggy!), the dripping birdbath (great idea to keep the water moving to discourage mosquitoes), and the potting benches (wonderful way to use an old sink). I hope you plan to stick around this time so that we can see more of your work! jiju, what a horrible ordeal you went through! I can relate to the tiny space for gardening. I find that a lot of my garden junk needs to hang. I hope you post some of your GJ ideas for tiny spaces.

This is a good primer for new members and us old curmudgeons with short memories.As has been said, please do some homework before starting a new thread with something that has already been covered at length, as in 'how do I disconnect the the RIO switch?'or some inane question like 'which one is best?'How do we know which one you will like and fer cryin out loud don't start arguing if you get an opinion you don't like. Take what you want and leave the rest. If you are not mechanically inclined, don't know the difference between a socket and a screwdriver (and have neither) why waste time coming here asking how to change a spark plug or air filter? Take it to a shop. OTOH if you are a noob or an old faht with a real dome scratcher and are genuinely interested, welcome aboard but do some research first. If you don't find what you are looking for, ask away. Somebody will have an answer or at least know where to look. A recent poster on the lawnmower forum has been wasting everyone's time with multiple threads on basically the same subject. Most people are now ignoring him hoping he will get bored and go away. Just my rant.

I have never requested updates to any of my threads.....but then I don't start many :-) However, if you go into 'Your Houzz' under your profile and then 'activity' you will see recent updates to any threads you have either started or contributed to. Although I participate in a lot of forums, it is not a big deal for me to remember which ones I have posted to and/or are interested in with regards to others' responses. I review them daily until I get bored or a new topic comes up :-) Does that not work for you?
