Window Woes in NJ :(

Hi Houzzers. We’d like to modernize our tired, 50’s Split-Level home. Because of wood rot, we must replace our Bow window ASAP. I love the extra display storage (for family photos and kid projects) and I love the sharp edges and geometric repetition of the windows but hate the roundness and traditional look of the bow. To modernize, I wanted to use 5 vertical windows flush on the wall but popped out 12-14inches so we still have that ledge space on the interior. I’m no engineer, but can this be done on a first-floor and still appear “floating”? I do not like the look of a wrapped support all the way down to the ground. See pics below for our current “acid-washed-denim” split-level with bow, a pic of a pop-out window structure that I’m thinking of, and some pics of some modern homes that I love. Our current budget is about 5K to make changes (we hope to change siding in a few years). Can this pop-out be done on first floor? Open to any ideas—and please post pics as my imagination skills are limited. Thanks!
