Sandy, I love pewter things too... I use alot of pewter color picture frames and such. How thoughtful of a gift... I have two, a creamy white and gold one from my mom about 13yrs ago.. it is displayed in the master bedroom The second one dd bought for me last year for Christmas is displayed on the mantel with some angels on each side.... I will post a link to my album so you can see the angels on each side. I also have a lighted set outside but no pictures yet...Oh yeah and the thrift store one in my village... Comments (49)Baileybear, I have a 'start' on a Fall-Thanksgiving Village. Just two houses and some cute accesssories so far. From the LeMaxx site I believe, got them two or three years ago so not sure now. Of course I'm always on eBay looking for stuff . I've seen some really cute Halloween Villages too. (And Easter ones tho not sure who made those. A good friend of mine, Kirk who comes here some, has found a LOT of Easter pieces at thrift shops in his area of WA.) Oh, and I'll find my "want list" and see if any Dickens pieces are on it and let you know in case you have them. Christine, if you're enjoying your Village, I say leave it out as long as you want. Personally I consider mine more of a "Winter" decor than Christmas. One year I set up first part of Nov and left it up till Feb 1st, so I could enjoy it even longer. I saw a GREAT set once, in a magazine long ago. A couple had a neat set-up in some kind of large linen type closet, with electricity for the buildings to light up. When they didn't want it seen, they just closed the doors! So theirs was set up all the time. :o) My little Fall Village, set up in a tray on vintage tea cart. hugs, Karen This post was edited by purplemoon on Sun, Jan 5, 14 at 19:18...See MoreNeed quick answer about buying a Christmas tree display, please!
Comments (13)UPDATE: Went to check the tree out before I took DH over there tonight. ( I knew that we would have to wait a long time to get help and get the thing down and packed up.) I noticed that a few of the sections were not lighting up. I asked the manager about it and he said that the fuses must have burned out. And the only way to find out was to take the tree apart, find out "which" fuses, and then see if they had replacement fuses. The original box and all extra lights and fuses were thrown out. Also, one string of lights had come undone from the branches. The kicker was when two patrons came in looking for fuses for their trees. One person had recently purchased hers at Lowe's. Neither found their fuses at Lowe's! One man told me not to buy the tree because it was a nightmare trying to find not only which fuse has burned out, but also locating new fuses in the store. So after taking a second to decide, I got a refund and walked out. :( Thanks for the quick advice!...See MoreMy Christmas Display 2019 uploaded today
