Show me your SMALL (and I mean tiny) master bath photos
Comments (40)thanks, rebeccamom. The marble is Calacatta marble from AKDO. It held up pretty well although there were a few scratches from my kids tracking sand and a handful of etches on the floor. This was the main bath and only tub for a family of four -- my kids had a smaller bath with a shower but they are toddlers and never used the shower. For maintenance, we squeegeed the shower after every use which got old. I doubt I'd do marble again in a shower. Maybe white subway with marble in the niches or as accents, but not marble on the floor or walls of the shower. The wall color is BM Light Pewter. Here's a link to the reveal with other details - I think it has the budget info in there. Here is a link that might be useful: Bathroom reveal thread...See MoreShow me your pendant lights in your kitchen
Comments (16)Hi boxerpups, I'm glad you like them. I do think they would look nice in your space. I love that they are pretty without being too overwhelming. They are nice and small... which I had a hard time finding something I liked (with the right price because we needed 5). Since we were putting them up in multiple, I didn't want something too big. They are a dark bronze, which I think blends nicely with our dark grayish/black counters. I'm sure you could spray paint them with a matte black if you wanted them to be a true black. Luckily at $19, you could test one. Here is photo of the pendants as they came originally... the original shades were a bit bigger in diameter. The clear glass shades I ended up swapping were also from Lowes for $3. If I remember correctly, they may have been in the section with the glass bathroom shades (on the same aisle as the rest of the lights at our Lowes)....See MoreShow me your kitchen faucet layout please
Comments (6)I am not sure if it was metallic but it did taste "off". What I did was open the faucet until it was empty, then let it fill up again several times and it seemed better. After that I found if I wasn't using it regularly it wouldn't taste as good again, and I would use the water to boil pasta or something and the tank would refill and the water would taste better again. I think it needs some initial flushing, but also gets stale if you aren't using it much. By the way, works great for soaking pans, degreasing them, cleaning eyeglasses and getting the marshmallow off the long forks used to toast marshmallows over a fire. That marshmallow melts right off! And when I had a bad cold with bronchitis last winter it was WONDERFUL. Sue...See MoreShow me your faucet placement at off-center window/sinks?
Comments (3)Our sink is not centered under the window, either. Our faucet is configured in a way that is tricky because the faucet's base is "centered" relative to the spout (which is to the left) and the handle (which is attached to the right). It's hard to explain..If you look at the pictures below, you can see what I mean. We had it mounted so that the stream from the spout flows into the drain hole of the sink. Our sink's drain hole is in the center. This faucet placement ended up to the right of center relative to the length (back edge) of the sink. We had the soap dispenser mounted to the left of the faucet to help counter balance the faucet's placement. We are right handed and the soap on the left is no problem at all. As far as the total overall look, I am happy with how things worked out. The fact that the sink & faucet are not in the center of the window does not bother me at all. Have you made any sort of mock up faucet, handle, water filter & air switch? I used a small water bottle with a piece of cardboard taped to it (cut to the approx. size, shape & height of my faucet) to simulate the faucet. You can also make a rough mock up of a water filter with anything around the house. You can put them in various placement scenarios and stand back and see how you like it. If you have the faucet & filter at your home already, then someone can hold them in place for a few minutes while you see if you like it. But, I like the mock up items to be around for a little while (more than a minute) so I can get a better feel for their placement....See Morejhmarie
