Hey Christie! Yes.. you are correct that I live in MTV! I got a surprised email from Vicki, and nice thoughtful about us. Yes.. It was pretty bad down in HWY 14 East, where the MTV hosptial, car/truck sales, other building, and few houses are destoryed and some home/trailer home were wipped off! That night, our wonderful neighbor called and informed my husband that the tornado is on the way to here MTV from Fox, so we went over their shelter for an hour. The neigbor had a "HAM" club radio, weather radio, and other c.b radio? which was so helpful communicate. Of course..I cannot hear it, but my hearing husband was telling me in sign language what they heard from radios. Boy.. we were so scared! They could hear the nosie outside where tornado hit about one or two miles from our house. Next day, I walked outside in our yard and found 2x4 white metal, some shingles, and woods from other house. The power went out for seven days. You know..it was so sad to know one lady were killed and others people lost their homes too. I learned what happened the lady who killed in tornado that she was trying to run off her trailer home and drove to her boy friend's house, but the tornado catched her. My deaf girl friend Wanda who lives in Rushing. The tornado ripped off her woods, top of roof, and the side of the house. She was at home that night! She was scared! Then her hearing daughter heard the tornado was hit near her home, so her husband and daughter drove and found her in the house, because the trees was knocked down and Wanda could not able to get out of the house. They cut the trees and finally got her out of the house. They took her to the hopstail because her foot was cut pretty bad from break glasses where the kitchen window was broken and had a high blood pressure. Her van was burned down from lighting. They did not see the fire when the daughter got Wanda to go to the hopstail. It must be happened after tornado hit. Wanda is doing fine. It was soo freaky! Last Friday, I finally got work with my seeds includes tomatoes, eggplants, pepper bells, herbs, and annual/perennial flowers. I have 107 cells and sitting on heating mat. This morning, most seeds are sprouted and transfered them underlight now. I am hardly wait for spring and summer! I know you too!! smile.. Have a good day!! Kat

Oh, wow, I can certainly understand the stomach flip flops. I hope it's resolved without further aggravation. natesgramma's tip is a great one. I've worried about this same thing, especially because my aging eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be. A friend and I went to a granite installation company yesterday just for a look-see. Boy, does lighting ever make a difference. Even though it was all indoors with the same overhead lighting, where the slab was in relation to the lighting made some easy to view and others pretty darn difficult, especially the darker granites. I want to make sure that it's not bad lighting that causes me to pick the wrong granite. Anybody have any lighting tricks to get a better look at granite slabs? I could take a flashlight but that would give me lots of glare. TIA

Sadly I am petless for the first time ever. I lost both my dogs within a year of one another. I had to send my Black Lab across the bridge this February. As soon as we get some yard work finished I'l be starting a new pack. We've always had two or more dogs in the past but this last pair were close in age and when the Rot died the Lab had too many issues with his health going on for us to introduce another dog. Pet Friendly Plans For the House: 1. Replacing our current pet door insert with a door in the glass on our family room slider. 2.Tile flooring in family room and kitchen. 3. Dog food storage cabinet in new laundry room. (for the 40 lb. plus bags of kibble) 4. Additional dog food storage cab in the kitchen for the cans,treats and a weekly amount of kibble. Dog first aid kit will be here also. 5. We are working on a design for a good (around 4 foot tall) custom dog gate for the wide hall separating the formal living room/dining room from teh rest of the house. The dogs are allowed there by invitation only. Our last Rottie was very social and would break the front room window trying to get out to play so the tall gate became a necessity. We already have the higher fences (thinks to hyper social Rot again) and we have areas of our backyard chain linked off from the dogs which provides an extra level of security for the. They can't get to any of the fence lines bordering the front yard. The plan is to get another pair of dogs starting with, hopefully, a female Rot this fall. Later we will add a male something (probably another Lab) that will be compatible as a brother. Reason being that Rots are strong willed and require a firm hand but mature faster. Labs can be strong willed adolescents for several years before they settle. I think I can train one more set of puppies before I age out. Then we will go into older dogs or puppy raising for Guide Dogs depending on our health and mobility.
