Good link there, Mary. I use a solution of milk, baking soda, and a squirt of soap mixed in a hose end sprayer. I found some articles on just milk and water (like the one you posted), and some that said the use baking soda and soap. I figured I would try all of them together. It seems to work pretty good so far. I have found it works best when you first begin noticing the powdery mildew. If you let it go too far, it pretty much takes over. Andre, that definitely looks fungal. Is the tip still alive? Is there good drainage in the pot? Too much moisture makes this worse. If there are any good leaves left, I'd prune off the sick ones- they'll cause more infection. If that trunk is still good and firm, it will sprout more once the problem is corrected. For killing the fungus, neem oil is a good choice. Mist the plant with it outside or in the shower if you can, so the spray doesn't get everywhere. Neem is a bit smelly, but good because it's not so toxic. It also can be used as an insecticide. I see I mentioned neem before. I am sorry for being repetitive, but I do like the stuff.

Yep!!! It is definitely mealy bugs. In addition to the insecticidal soap, daily washings under the water hose, kitchen sink sprayer or whatever you have handy to wash it with will help to remove them from your plant. Again, I can't stress persistence as one of the keys to getting rid of this pest, because they are so persistent themselves. It is a mold that will not harm your plants. Breathing in too much of it when applying the mulch can cause chest congestion which is easily dealt with by taking Mucinex. I had a tree service dump their full truck of wood chips on my drive earlier this year. Some of it had been in the truck for awhile and had that mold in it. The tree service guy warned me about it and told me what to do if it bothered me. I mulched my entire backyard with it because I have giant dogs. One of the names of the mold is "Dog Vomit Fungus". When it dries out it is a powdery grey. A botanist at the University of Illinois told me what it was.
