Thanks so much! Anncarolyn, thank you! I love my sofa/chair/ottoman. (Actually I do like the blue but am thinking of making creamy slipcovers made soon!) The brand is Rowe. I bought them at a local furniture outlet several years ago for something crazy like 65% off retail price--I think I got the whole shebang for about $900! They are built SO well and wear like iron. I do love this blue b/c it is very forgiving with a dog and a toddler (the former is not allowed on furniture, but the latter is--although the dog DOES sometimes hop up when he thinks we're not looking :)). We really lucked out and I'm so impressed with the comfort and quality of our sofa. I had hoped to find something we could use for years and years, have re-upholstered and/or slipcovered, and I think we got it! I hope, this week, to make up my sad little mind about colors and get on with this project. I will definitely post photos when I finish! Thanks for all your good advice, and thanks jimoba--the fabric wasn't what I was thinking at first but I do really like it a lot!

If you put Palladian Blue in Google search, click images, you will see it used with golds and reds and greens, and a warm Whole Wheat looking color. The photo you show from a Hal Williamson bedroom is a small part of the wall above the bed that I've saved because I love the way he useds greens and reds with this blue wall color. Did you see the whole bedroom photo? Your questions... #1. It won't clash with Whole Wheat. You may not want that much contrast, but again, if you view the images as I outlined before, you can even see a PB room coming off a yellow room. 2#. It won't clash with the other colors either. And they are DOWNSTAIRS. Your bedroom is UPSTAIRS. I realize that you will see into the bedroom as you climb the stairs, but I think it will be a wonderful surprise...... 3#. No. You are not overthinking. Painting a big bedroom is a big undertaking and you also plan to buy new bedding, which is more money. You NEED to think about it. But you may be worrying about the wrong thing. If you want to walk into one of those lovely blue bedrooms like I see in the pictures and you find a toile that you love, I don't think you will be looking over your shoulder to see how the Whole Wheat feels about the Whole Thing. Get a sample already. (I'm hoping you can get one of those sample quarts that are cheap. If not, buy the cheapest BM qt. you can get. You don't need nuance, you need a sample big enough to put on some walls as high as you can reach and as low as near baseboard) Get your painting tray and roller out. Paint the entry to your bedroom. You're gonna be painting something in there anyway, so go for it. Then, walk into it for a few days. Let it surround you. If you have bedding, see how it looks on the wall color. That's not over-thinking, that's working on your problem. And FWIW, I like the idea of a red toile, or a soft blue toile, or a soft gold toile, or cream bedding, or anything else that produces an Ahhhhhhhh.... Red

Since it’s the only color in the room right now, and next to a much darker room, it’s amplified. With furniture and art on the walls, etc, it will calm down a lot.

Thanks for the input!. Th is my step-daughters room; she graduated and doesn’t stay here but her favorite color is blue. The room is 11.5’ by 11.5’ so I didn’t want to go too dark Ill pick up some chips that you all recommended (unfortunately we don’t have F&B around here). I had a heck of a time deciding on a color form my spare room and ended up going with BM Simply White
