how to make footing for sheet metal partition wall?
Comments (3)Let's not yet think about how it's going to work down in the ground. To what do you intend to fasten the corrugated panels? They are not going to stand alone like the sheet steel in the picture. And does your scheme have it curved like that? I'm thinking you'll need some fence-post-like vertical members to attach the panels to, spaced every few feet. With the gauge you're using, the panels are going to be highly subject to damage. What forces will affect it?...See Moresheetrock alternatives for basement partition walls?
Comments (4)Another vote for drywall. It's the cheapest option by far, even if you figure in delivery issues and risk of damage. Hanging it is easy, even for DIY. You can do it with minimal tools, hiding errors is possible w/ mud, and it's far less work than cutting plywood or sheet metal. Finishing drywall nicely is harder, but you have many options there depending on how much you want to spend time/money wise, and the level of imperfection you're willing to live with....See MoreWhat are your opinions? Partition or no partition
Comments (19)No partition but if you were to do one, all the way up. The short wall doesn't seem to make any sense. Maybe it's just the software but I would continue the backsplash behind the sink. I also think the cabinets look too short around the window and a breakfast bar with an overhang is needed. Hope the left side of the refrig has a panel....See MoreHow to do corner shower walls, curtains, and glass partition
Comments (0)I'm not sure about the difference between GardenWeb and Houzz Discussions, so I hope it's okay to post in both places. We're putting in a 32" x 40" shower base as pictured, and we'd like to have a glass wall on the side facing the vanity and a shower curtain on a track from the ceiling on the side facing the toilet. We'd like to use products from a home center and not spend too much money. Any ideas on the simplest options for the walls and partition would be most welcome. The first photo is from a design program. The second one is what the room ACTUALLY looks like. The white cardboard is a template of the shower base dimensions. We don't mind moving the shower plumbing. The toilet's too close to the wall, but we're not going to move it....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
