Granite being installed now!
Comments (1)Good luck! This is so exciting! As for the seam, my understanding is it should be very small/narrow (smaller than 1/16"), the granite on both sides should be perfectly level (flat), the color they choose should match with the predominant color of the stone (if too dark or too light they will show up and you want them to disappear), the color of the granite on either side of the seam should match as closely as possible, vein direction should flow, and you should hardly be able to feel the seam (if at all)....See MoreGranite install right now!
Comments (19)Such a beautiful kitchen! Love, love, love your granite. The movement in it is great. So pretty! Your kitchen layout is similar to mine (yours is a smidge bigger). However, I just could get a glimpse of what my kitchen will look like in hopefully a month or so. Thank you! You helped me visualize! Right down to the flor. light box being removed. Can't wait. Now I am getting excited! Love your door handles. Who makes them?...See MoreGranite installation -- what's acceptable, what's not?
Comments (8)yes the new piece should match the old. no that chip on the edge is not acceptable. it should be a smooth cut. don't know about the rough spot. and yes, if it's not right, don't accept it. We didn't. We finally called the owner of the company when we were having problems because they cut one piece too small and wanted us to accept the seam where we didn't want it. That was after we paid extra for them to hand cut the corner so we wouldn't have the seam in the corner but instead we wanted the seam under the edge of our appliance garage. It took them going to the east coast of the state to find a matching piece of granite and they had to recut the whole L area but they did it and it's gorgeous. Don't accept shoddy work....See MoreThey installed the wrong sink. Now what!
Comments (53)I will probably never look under the sink again. it was so hard for them to take the ugly one out, I'm pretty sure this one is good. They came back hours later because they forgot the grids of course. The installer a very large man demonstrated that it was not budging. Today my remodel will be complete and I will have a fabulous kitchen even though I rarely cook. lol Thanks again everyone!...See MoreBeth H. :
