Need help choosing tile for half bathroom floor
Comments (6)Would it be bad to use something like this, even though it is an older style? I am a huge sucker for black and white anything. I don't want to spend a lot of money (not that this is a lot of money at $5.75/square foot at home depot) and then still have the room look like it has the original tile, in case we sell. I like this too, for the same reasons...this is more expensive though, at $15.39/SF (for sale here: http://www.fastfloors.com/catalog/productline.asp?wid=FG8N2D2&productlineid=17937&productid=126165: I also like this, but I'm suspicious of the price ($5.48 for 11.25x11.25). Is the quality bad? this is at home depot. Would marble be better? Or granite? I have no idea what to do....See MoreHelp with Choosing Bathroom Materials
Comments (13)Don't judge me but in the approx. 2 months since it was finished, I haven't once cleaned my shower tile walls or floor (did clean the glass door once) and it looks new still. DH never squeegees, and the fan barely works (an expensive Fantech!) so the walls and shower floor stay visibly wet about 18 hours a day. What I used... Walls: Arctic White 3"x6" subway tile (Daltile Rittenhouse) with 'Bright White' grout- Laticrete; Floors (in shower and bathroom): matte white 1" hex Merola from big orange ceramic tile floor; "Smoke Gray" Laticrete grout. My goal was to make the floor grout look like it looks when its dirty. So I took some grout from the kids' 14 year old bathroom and matched it. I was aiming for '1920s vintage but new' (my house was built in the 20s and has alot of charm still - crystal knobs, alot of molding in most rooms), but also not high maintenance. (I put in Carrera marble counters in the kitchen 2 years ago, and honestly miss the laminate - I don't need added work for aesthetics at my age.) Anyway, HTH somehow! I know everyone here helped me so much when we renovated....See MoreNeed help choosing a window curtain for this bathroom

Comments (12)Thanks, SJ. Yellow has never been one of my favorite colors and there is a lot of it on the wall. I was considering the multi-yellow though, but now that I've learned it's been discontinued, I think I will go with the light blue. Thanks for the mock ups, ilikefriday!...See MoreCK Hoffman Design
