I like the sofa! I'd need to see pics of the room and the other stuff that will be in the room. What color will the walls be? What color is the carpet/flooring? What colors are in your artwork? What color curtains. Now if you are starting with a blank slate I would think just about any accent colors you like would go with that neutral sofa. I think it would look good with red, or gold though. What colors do you like? Well I have been looking for 2 days for a recling sofa that had a recliner on each end but not in the middle. I really like that Norah sofa on the site you linked lol ..

Spray paint. I'm not sure I would have the courage for that Doesn't it crack? Interesting. The seat cushions are in good shape but the backs are not. I agree that the bargain stores may be the best choice for a temp fix. Darn, I drove right by Pier 1 and Marshall's today and never thought of checking there. I was at the mall and walked by Ballard's and saw some that could work but at $60 each, I skipped them. Of course, I'd just dropped $500 on Memorial Day sales (clothes), so I was feeling tapped out.

UPDATE I just received this Fornasetti pillow from Etsy -- it's an outdoor pillow and I intended for use on our deck. However, I kind of like it in my office. What do you think? Perhaps it can live here during the off season.

Thank you Flo. My past rug was larger, maybe a 9x12, so the room can handle it. I do have the 8x10 size ordered...and will give that a try as well. Just to be sure we are on the same page.....when you say 'slide it under long side about 4"', are you referring to the long side of sectional as the section WITHOUT the teal pillows on it or the other section?
