I’m surprised that it’s doing well in a hothouse since it’s from cooler areas of Chile. Mine is blooming on my back deck now in Portland. It’s practically freezing outside.

I grew it from a small seedling given to me by a friend who ordered a bunch of seed from Chileflora.com. It only survives in a pot for me. I haven’t tried them outside... pretty sure it would die during our 7 year freeze cycle.

Oh, I thought you meant you had it growing in the garden. I read that it's hard to raise from seed with poor germination, so you've done well.

My friend who grew the seeds seven or eight years ago had excellent germination. So much so that he is having trouble getting rid of his dozens of plants over the past years. It is currently in good bloom.
