Hello, my partner and I are building a new home. We need help with the exterior. Specifically, we are looking for primarily a white modern farmhouse type feel. Right now, we plan to do white board and batten above the garage and across the upper story of the home, with horizontal siding below. However, perhaps there are better options? The pillars in front of the two entry ways are currently set for "stone" up about 1/3 of the way. We are contemplating whether we should use dark stone across the lower portion of the home, and perhaps a complete stone face around the window just to the left of the main entrance. Or, whether we should just keep it without stone? The no-stone approach might be more "farmhouse like" and likely would save some money. We will likely have to do stone on the pillars up that first 1/3 (as they are already set up for it by the cement/stone folks), but could keep the rest stone free?
I'd love to hear people's ideas. Thank you very much for the help!!
