I forgot to add... The color of the island is called Sandstone (brown) and my cabinets are PPG Gypsum White

It’s a little hard to tell what’s going on here. I like the brown subway tiles, but not the white in a herringbone pattern. Not crazy about the pendants, although I know you didn’t ask. It looks like tile #7 is scoring well, bit it also looks like it is too cool of a color for the rest of the kitchen. I am voting for #5, but again, I am not sure I understand the colors and placement of them.

Are you going for a tile rug behind the stove? Is that what the second tile pattern is for? If not, where would it go?

The pendants aren't fixed. You can ignore them for now. :) I do want a bronze fixture though.

I'm trying to narrow down my list so that when my slab comes in, I can take samples of 2-3 for a final choice :) Thats the method to my madness. :)

#2 would look nice w/your granite

These are all way too busy. Wait until your countertops are in and then choose. I think plain subway (perhaps a non-traditional size?) would be far better.

You're looking at a lot of backsplashes with a lot of pattern. Not sure you want to compete with your counters that much -- my vote for #8 was less on its wonders than for the single color with a bit of texture.

Are you also looking to do a specific pattern above the range, and then have a different pattern/tile on either side? That would be an awful lot with those counters. But ftr, I generally go for simplicity. That's my preference. If you really like patterns, you should do it, but I would caution against a busy counter, and *two* different tiles/tile patterns. That would be pretty overwhelming. What will the floor be?

Wait until the kitchen is in then come back with 3 choices , there are too many now and we have no context and what do you mean by small kitchen.
