Comments (10)I don't have any wildlife to share, so this is "Rudy". Hubby wanted a little pine tree as our Christmas tree this year. Comments (12)I found a few more old pictures that I've scanned to the computer. A short explanation about this one: My paternal grandparents came to this country just before the First World War. They lived through the shortages and rationing. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor my Grandpa knew what was coming. The very next day (Monday morning) he went to town and bought a new car knowing that soon none would be available. This is Grandpas brand new 1942 Ford. He paid 1004 dollars. Comments (16)Looking forward to seeing your photos, Annie! Our first trip to Thailand was during Christmas. The majority of Thai people are Buddhist and don't celebrate Christmas, but there were Christmas trees and other displays set up all over Bangkok. Part of it is for the Western tourists and part of it is because the Thais like the decorations as a visual aesthetic. This is a replica of a local retired and beloved physician’s house that he always decorated for Christmas with many lawn displays, Santa, The Grinch, live reindeer, and much more. He also contributed much to the community in his retirement. He passed away last March and the Garden honored him by constructing this display, and re-worked a few of his displays as well....See MoreJasdip
